Ds 2005 39+4 spontaneous, waters manually broken as delivering.

23+6 with ds2, hoping for similar

MrsBellefleur · 11/02/2017 19:45

40+11 first sign of labour was my first contraction around 12.30am around 3 hours later my waters broke and dd was born at 7.59am.

33+4 currently. Worried this one will arrive even quicker and I'm not prepared!

Oysterbabe · 11/02/2017 19:47

DD 35+5. Waters broke in the night and labour started 12 hours later.

beachsands · 11/02/2017 19:51
  1. 41+6 Induced after being admitted for induction at 41+5. Came 6.5 hours after waters broke
  2. 39+6 naturally after a very quick labour.

39+4- Went into spontaneous labour at home, hospital at 4cm, waters broken by midwife at 10cm, DD1 came down sideways and got stuck on ridge of pelvic bone leading to ventouse delivery. 12 hour labour.

32+4- Preterm premature spontaneous rupture of membranes at home, went to hospital, was told they would do steroid injections and antibiotics and induce at 34 weeks. Unfortunately my body had other ideas and I went into labour a few hours later. Contractions weren't showing on monitor so they wouldn't believe me telling them I was in labour, left me on mat ward, refused to examine me or offer pain relief. Cue major panic when I screamed head was coming out and they had to emergency Alarm for paeds from Nicu etc to come rushing as DS was 8 weeks early. I was contracting for 5 hours, they wrote down 'precipitate birth' Hmm.

40+2- Planned homebirth. Woke at 12.30am feeling crampy, went downstairs, by 1am contractions very intense, phoned for midwife at 1.30am, she arrived at 2am and never got time to phone for second midwife as DD2 arrived still in her waters at 2.09am Smile. 90 minute labour.

Expecting fourth so who knows what this one will bring, I'm thinking it will be rather fast!

Trinpy · 12/02/2017 08:50

ds1 - 40+3. Woke up at 8am with regular contractions, baby born at 4pm.

ds2 - 39+4. Had strong, regular contractions at 37 weeks, thought this was it, then they died out. Contractions continued on and off all day and night for the next 2 weeks. Finally called the midwife out (homebirth) and 1 sweep, 11 hours and lots of running up and downstairs later...baby was born!

No plans for no.3.

duxb · 12/02/2017 08:52

First baby, 41+13, 48hr induction (pessary then prostin x 2, waters then broken). 15 hours pushing with gas and aye then emergency section under GA due to fetal compromise - she wasn't for coming out.

Let's hope if I ever have a second it's a little easier.

CrikeyGee · 12/02/2017 08:57

Dc1: 39+6 contractions started at 3am
Dc2: 39+6 contractions started at 2.15am
Dc3: 39+6 contractions started at 2:30am

So I gestate to a strict timetable with only a 45 min margin of error.

HeteronormativeHaybales · 12/02/2017 09:01

3 dc and my waters never went on their own.

dc1
spontaneous labour at 37+5. dc born 38+0 by ventouse, classic cascade-of-intervention stuff. ARM in second stage.

dc2
spontaneous labour started early hours at 40+8, dc born by 10.30am. Quick labour, ventouse for fetal distress. ARM in second stage.

dc3
Induced at 40+10. Virtually nothing happened for several hours then 2cm to birth in about 20 minutes (literally). Dc born in caul.

KateTheShrew · 12/02/2017 09:19

DC1 40 +3 spontaneous labour lasting only about 5 hours. First twinge about 3pm. Waters broke as i arrived at hospital. Didn't go to hospital until 9.5cm dilated as I assumed they'd send me home (thought first labours took days and was horrified that I was in so much pain with 'early labour'. In reality was lucky he wasn't born in the car...)

Currently 38 weeks with DS2 and crossing fingers for similar this time, but bit concerned that second labours can be quicker so will be heading to hospital at first contraction this time Grin

TwoDogs9 · 12/02/2017 09:42

DS1 38w, waters broke at home, he arrived 38+2

Ahardmanisgoodtofind · 12/02/2017 09:58

DS 40+5, woke up contracting, waters manually broken @8cm ventouse and episiotomy. 13hours start to finish

DD 40 (right on due date) waters broke at home 3 am, drama free birth, into hospital at 5am leaving at 5pm. Although I had been at @3cm for 16 days before she arrived and contracting mildly. Two sweeps and two scans and fours drs/midwives telling me I'd have her in next 24hours.48 max Hmm

wineusuallyhelps · 12/02/2017 10:35

42+3 induced
42+3 spontaneous
42+1 spontaneous

Notsure1234 · 12/02/2017 10:36

Ds induced with pessary at 39+5 due to reduced movements. Born 39+6 after very fast labour

annlee3817 · 12/02/2017 12:33

40+5 - spontaneous labour started to home, waters broke fully when I got on the birthing unit and was about to be examined. Total time just over 5 hours.

MrsRaymondReddington · 12/02/2017 13:02

36+5 waters broke at home, had emergency c-sec as baby was extended breech with other complications that they didn't tell me about!

cantmakeme · 12/02/2017 22:09

DD 39+6 spontaneous, longish labour (40 hrs), normal birth.
Still 8/9 weeks to go with this one, if it's on time...

riddles26 · 13/02/2017 07:57

40+0, had a long swim and contractions started when I got home. Got stronger over the next day, went into hospital about 24 hours after the swim and delivered 9 hours later

toomuchtimereadingthreads2016 · 13/02/2017 08:27

DD 41+6 induction 42+1 by the time she was born!

Hoping for spontaneous with baby 2 in June...

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 13/02/2017 09:51

Dc1- water broke in the last 20 minutes of 36+5 arrived at bang on 37 weeks. Back to back.

Dc2- woke up with pains at 35 +3, went to the toilet & saw blood. Rang the hospital & went in just to get checked. Was stabbed with steroids & drugs to slow the labour. Born 8 hours later.

Dc3- 24+6 had labour stopped. 38+5 start of latent labour. 39+4 went to the midwife for an appt in the pm, she was on the phone to the hospital re baby being breech & baby turned just as she got through. Went home gave the older dc their tea, tidied up, went to loo & noticed my show so called the hospital. Put the dc to bed went in & got checked (4cm) walked around for an hour. Went back up to the ward & dc was out 30 minutes later.

Dc4- 37+4 went in with strong contractions, registering well on the monitor. Midwife confidently told me I'd have a baby later that day. Fast forward to 38+4 pains still the same as they had been for the previous week. I woke up at 2am & went downstairs. Sat on the sofa & my waters broke. Went back to hospital. Midwife checked my pad & confirmed liquor. Was sent home later that day with an appt for 8am as the consultant decided my waters couldn't have gone. Turned up at 8am & the consultant sent me for a walk. My fore waters went in the carpark about 3 hours later so I went back up to the ward. Was sent to walk round for another couple of hours. Was then put in the monitor & the consultant decided as I was still only 2cm to start induction. Drip was put in at 4:15pm baby arrived 5:02pm. Back to back & facing the wrong way.

I asked after dc4 was born what to expect if we went for dc5 & they said it would likely be similar. We'll find out in August!

PonderLand · 13/02/2017 10:02

40+4 started by period pains that got frequently stronger and was able to time them. This lasted for two days until I went in to hospital with reduced movement. Then emcs due to heart rate dropping during contractions.

largepinotplease · 13/02/2017 14:56

40+2 waters broke at 6am and 7 hours later he was in my arms (very quick and straightforward labour in birthing pool) I hope next time I'm as lucky!

10storeylovesong · 13/02/2017 20:13

27+2 Went to hospital with what I thought were strong Braxton Hicks. Turned out I'd been having contractions for 9 hours and was 3cm later. Mild contractions for a further 12 hours then 20 minutes to go from 3cm to fully dilated and baby popped out. Fit and healthy 4 year old now.

6+5 currently and no idea how this one will turn out!

Upyourdaisy · 13/02/2017 20:26

Dd1 37+3 contractions, waters broken manually during labour.
Ds 38+2 contractions, waters broken manually during labour.
Dd2 39+0 waters went with trickle shortly followed by contractions.
Dd3 39+3 bloody show, contractions, waters went while pushing in birthing pool.
Dd4 39+1 contractions, waters broken manually during labour.

elliejjtiny · 13/02/2017 23:53

Ds1 - 41+4 - long early labour but only 4 hours active labour. Baby born at home in water.
Ds2 - 40+6 - waters broke with no labour. 3 days of nothing, stuck at 2-3cm dilated all night after the 3rd day. Meconium traces in waters, homebirth abandoned and baby born in hospital 90 minutes later.
Ds3 - 40+2 - waters broke on due date. No contractions. Went in for induction, already 3cm. Wait for labour ward to have a bed all day. Finally have a bed and I'm 5cm. Don't bother with induction, baby born 2 hours later.
Ds4 - 35+3 - waters broke at 35+1. Baby not engaged and lying with head leaning to one side and feet near head. C-section at 35+3. Baby spends 4 weeks in neonatal unit.
Ds5 - 36+6 - waters broke at 35+3. Waddle around looking after 4 dc for 9 days with gushing waters and toddler sized nappies in my pants trying desperately to avoid neonatal unit nightmare. Get infection, induced with drip. Baby goes into distress and tries to come out the wrong way (brow presentation). Infection develops into sepsis and baby born by crash c-section nearly 5 hours after induction began. Baby spends 5 days in neonatal unit and 3 on the postnatal ward with me.
