I'm in the bloody tea room again!

Sorry I'm going to whinge. I came into the maternity hospital a few weeks ago with abdominal pain and reduced movements. They took bloods. Then they left me in the tea room on the postnatal ward for 6 hours. I understand that even urgent bloods take time to come back but in that time nobody spoke to me, checked on me, nothing.

I've come into triage again today with headaches, visual disturbances, protein in my wee but because I don't have high blood pressure they're happy it's not pre eclampsia. I feel awful. My head is booming. They've admitted me. Where have they put me? In the flipping tea room again. Just shoot me now!

I know the NHS is tight on funding blah blah blah. No excuse for it, you were there at 5 so they should of gotten you a hot meal. Other wards will of had spare food if yours didn't. A sandwich is nothing when breakfast isn't until 8am the next day.
I'm sorry you're getting treated so badly OP. It makes me embarrassed to work for the NHS when simple things like food aren't provided.

Did they say when you will be given a bed? If you're not given a bed will you be able to go home and return in the morning? Xx

They're being very vague with me. All they've told me is to wait for the blood tests to come back.

The last doctor said he wasn't worried about pre eclampsia but another doctor has told me they are so I have to wait. No idea on a bed. A Midwife told me 2 hours ago she'd try to find me a more comfortable chair. Nothing. Still on this plastic monstrosity.

I told the doctor I would go and come back tomorrow but she changed the subject.

I've FINALLY been sat on a bed after complaining again. I was sent to the ward at 3 soooo only been waiting 5 hours.

Still no news as to whether I'm staying but at least I have a comfy seat now.

So glad you've got a bed at last! Let's hope they find you some dinner

Rachie1986 · 10/02/2017 20:22

Hope you get some rest OP and all is ok x

Afreshstartplease · 10/02/2017 20:24

Get your feet up op and don't be afraid to nod off

SquedgieBeckenheim · 10/02/2017 20:26

I'm so glad you have a bed finally! Now try to get a bit of rest, as much as you can in a hospital. Have they given you some pain relief too?

Rachie1986 · 11/02/2017 14:58

How are you doing?

Gaaaah · 11/02/2017 16:06

They sent me home an hour after finding me a bed. They had concerns about protein but let me go, I was in again today for repeat bloods and monitoring but I didn't have to sit in the tea room this time Grin

So are your blood tests all ok?
How are your symptoms now?

Gaaaah · 11/02/2017 17:19

Symptoms still the same. They said there is protein present but it's not enough to call it pre eclampsia. I'm booked in for daily monitoring and blood pressure checks and have consultant clinic on Monday to discuss what's happening.
