As long as it's got the lion stamp on, I can eat raw egg whites can't I??

NHS advice is to avoid them due to potential listeria risk. However if you are asking because you have accidentally eaten them in all likelihood you and baby will be absolutely fine Wink

A panel of experts advised the FSA raw eggs were ok and that prompted all the news stories last summer. However I don't think they've updated the official advice yet so the NHS won't have either. I would eat them though. www.food.gov.uk/news-updates/help-shape-our-policies/review-of-advice-to-consumers-on-eggs

I'm with lamprey42 and have eaten runny eggs regularly during pregnancy - and the occasional meringue - with no issue.

So far, I've had may made with raw egg & now panacotta made with raw egg whites....I'm fine, baby is fine.
The panacotta was amazing & its syn free so I want to eat loads!

Yes, it's fine as long as lion stamped.

Lion stamp is the key thing, I also know someone senior in national food safety.

But um, why would you? Did you mean like raw swallowing or just lightly cooked?

The egg white was in a panacotta & then chilled so no cooking at all & the raw egg was in mayo so again, chilled
