Hi there, I am 15 weeks pregnant (and two days) with my first baby and I am 35. I had a phone call from the midwife today regarding my quadtest result. She said we have a 1 in 90 chance of Down syndrome. I just panicked and don't really understand the numbers. She's told me about options etc but I am just feeling really upset and overwhelmed right now and just wondered if anyone has any experience on this because I just feel like I am drowning in hormones and uncertainty and just feel out of my depth. Thank you x

Long story but I have had both the harmony test and the cvs one. Different pregnancies
Cvs result is quick. Less than 48 hours
Harmony took about 3 weeks but I went private for that at the London specialist clinic
Honestly and truly if going again I would have cvs. It is quick and although it is a ruddy big needle, the speed of results would win it for me
No one really knows what they would do in the circumstances but for me I had to know as I am a practical person so wanted to be prepared
Good luck and massive hugs

Basically there's a 1.11% chance of your baby having downs and a 98.89% chance of them not. So probability is well and truly on your side.
