Just that really, all in the name of fun!

I read about one in the latest chapter of my baby book last night that I'd never heard of before. It's the only one I've come across so far that was accurate for me:

If your linea nigra stops at your belly button it's a girl, but if it extends higher and reaches closer to your ribs then it's a boy. Smile

I love these!!

My DD had a full head of thick black hair and I couldn't even drink water without getting crippling heart burn.

My bump was all out front with her and I craved salty things.

SirChenjin · 21/12/2016 15:39

Horrendous heartburn with DS1 - and he had the thickest mop of black hair when he was born.

Had horrendous morning sickness with all 3 of them, but ended up in hospital on a drip with DC2 (DD)

Bumps were all roughly the same shape, ie to the front, and no linea nigra.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/12/2016 15:51

Huge out the front bump, heartburn- had two very hairy boys! But I did also have terrible morning sickness with both.
Craved cheese and meat with boys, sugar with dd
Also the family order theory (can't quite remember it but it's like if you're the middle child your first will be a boy, 2nd a girl etc.... Was correct for us. Chinese predictor was wrong each time. Wedding ring on string was right each time.

I read an article a while ago which claimed that the size increase was a way to tell gender. Girls cause your boobs to increase in size more than a boy would due to testosterone or estrogen or something Hmm

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/12/2016 18:52

speed of heartbeat, over 14 and gallopping is a girl
slower and like chuff of train a boyt

think mine was 166 at scan and weeks later found out was a girl

SharkBastard · 22/12/2016 19:01

Morning sickness, carried low, craved sugar and horrific heartburn = Hairy baby girl

This time (22 weeks pregnant atm) morning sickness, carrying high, craving vegetables and sugar making me ill = Boy. Also have awful heartburn with this one but will find out in April if he's hairy!

CocoLoco87 · 22/12/2016 19:05

Terrible HG = must be a girl or twins... I have DS1&2

sj257 · 22/12/2016 19:19

Craving savoury stuff - boy 👦

Princesspinkgirl · 22/12/2016 21:57

Savory = blue was true in my case
I had terrible sickness with my DS

Embra · 22/12/2016 22:08

And what is nub and skull theory?

GrinchyKiwi · 26/12/2016 18:21

I had awful heartburn, very little sickness and carried high & in front with all three of my bald girls. Grin

Women in my family all carry girls like a basketball and boys like a rugby ball. I've not been wrong yet guessing based on shape. (I've guessed something like 20 babies.)

Summerlovin24 · 26/12/2016 18:22

Girl - very sick , craved haribo, no linear negra
Boys- easy pregnancy, no sickness, carried out in front, linear negative went high

Wonderflonium · 26/12/2016 18:32

My leg hair is growing really slowly, looked it up and apparently that means a girl.

TallyHoAndToodlePip · 26/12/2016 18:59

Wonderflonium I've not heard that one before. My leg hair was out of control until 24 weeks and now it grows very slowly. Hope my boy hasn't morphed into a girl because I've bought too many boy clothes now! Grin

I had heartburn with my first daughter and she had no hair. I had no heartburn with my second daughter and she had hair. Also I was all to the front both times - you wouldn't have known I was pregnant from behind and again, both were girls. I carried differently with both of them too but it made no difference. None of the predictions were true for me!

pixiebell79 · 26/12/2016 23:00

I've not noticed any that were true for me - horrible morning (all day!) sickness, shocking heartburn = baldy little boy! Also, sweet cravings - not been much of one for chocolate til then, suddenly started inhaling it!

IDontLookMyAge76 · 27/12/2016 10:55

My OH'S mum came in and said 'you've a bump Nd a bum, means you're having a boy!' Hadn't told her the scan showed a girl yet!! 😁

Soubriquet · 27/12/2016 11:33

Bump and bum usually means girl

Pointlesscrap · 28/12/2016 00:41

DS1-no cravings, no heartburn, no sickness or nausea. Had 3hairs when born
DS2-as above
DS3-horrendous heartburn throughout pregnancy...still came out with 3hairs
DD-horrendous nausea, occasional heartburn lets see if she has more than 3hairs lol

Pointlesscrap · 28/12/2016 00:46

Forgot to mention nonstop sweet cravings with DD...31weeks now and my bump and bum has gone huge

Middleoftheroad · 28/12/2016 00:51

I carried twins so the old wives' tales of carrying high etc did not apply, nor heatburn etc. I was always going to get extreme symptoms at 5ft1 with 39 week twins taking over my whole body!

TinklyLittleLaugh · 28/12/2016 00:56

Apparently red haired women can't breastfeed. Something to do with being delicate/thin skinned.

I did breastfeed but I had absolutely shredded nipples and only managed by using nipple shields until I toughened up.

Toyslayer · 28/12/2016 10:05

That Chinese gender calendar ... that was true for me on both children
