This morning. Pregnant. 2-3 weeks.

DP was here when I took the test then his best mate showed up to take him on his stag do till Tues.

I don't want to tell anyone else yet in real life but I'm sitting here going rather crazy with nerves and excitement.

Any ideas what I do now?!

If that was a ClearBlue digital you're actually 4–5 weeks pregnant Smile
as the digital test dates from conception rather than last period.

At this stage all you need to do is make an appointment see your GP in the next couple of weeks who will refer you on to the midwife.

Oh and start taking folic acid and Vitamin D straightaway!

And obviously stop drinking alcohol, limit caffeine to one coffee or two teas a day and don't eat pate (too much Vitamin A is bad for the baby).

There are lots of other don'ts but this would be a good start.

Take folic acid
Stop drinking alcohol
Work out (all being well) when you can stop work Grin

Yep have been taking folic acid since we started trying to conceive. Will get some Vitamin D supplements.

No more alcohol. Had a mini heart attack when I saw the caffeine limit I'll be allowed, that will be a lot harder than the alcohol!

Congratulations Grin

I've got used to less caffeine. I tend to use my caffeine quote for tea but I buy good quality decaf coffee beans which, freshly ground and filtered, make a very nice-tasting coffee so I can at least get a fix of the coffee flavour that way, if not the caffeine.

You might not even need a GP appointment. Check with the receptionist as often you can self-refer straight to the midwives and save an appointment. Congratulations! Flowers

You don't normally need to see g.p just contact midwife around week 8. I've had no alcohol but not been able to stop caffeine. I wouldn't be any good to anyone without it

It depends on where you live. Where I am you have to be referred by your GP (who does a general health check just in case any existing medical conditions etc. need to be taken into account earlier than your midwife appointment).
