Appointments and asprin help

Hello,
I feel a bit confused by my hospital - at booking in I was told I would be consultant led due to being over 35 and BMi of 36. I was told I may have to go on asprin later on but I explained that I am allergic to asprin which was written in my notes. After this I saw no midwives at the hospital, just sonographers for my 12 and 20 week scans. Following my 20 week scan I was told that the only further appointment I needed was my next community midwife appt at 25 weeks and that she would deal with appointments from there. I was confused as this seemed to contradict the list of appointments in my notes, so I rang to check and the booking clerk said I didn't need any further appointments booking with them. Well I had 25 week community midwife appt yesterday and I asked her what happens next and she seemed alarmed that I haven't seen a consultant and is trying to book me in for next week, she also said "have I been taking my asprin" and I explained that I am allergic to it and she said I would need to discuss this with the consultant.
I'm now worrying about why the hospital haven't done this and how long ago it should have been done, and that I am at risk from not having taken asprin. I have to wait until Monday to see if they can fit me in next week with a consultant.
Am I being unreasonable to think this is not how my appointments should have been handled? Does anyone have any experience of what happens if you are allergic to asprin in these circumstances? Thanks!

I have been consultant led due to my marginally higher bmi. The midwife did the referral at my 8wk booking appointment and I was given a repeat prescription of aspirin to start from 12wks onwards. Consultant appointments she said happen at around 18wks and then they come up with a treatment plan from there...although my plan was daily aspirin, healthy eating and additional growth scans at 32 & 36wks. I personally didn't find the consultant welcoming or understanding of my situation, he was very "box ticking" I.e your bmi is this so we will do this, rather than understanding that my weight/bmi increase was due to a previous medical condition!
I would suggest speaking to the midwife again about your concerns as to why you haven't seen the consultant and ask her to make the referral if it is necessary.

Good luck Smile
