Just wondering how people found having these vaccines? I've booked my appointment to have mine having had to delay it a bit due to having a horrible virus. I am dreading the thought of possibly feeling a bit sick afterwards!!

Please can some people tell me they had them and felt fine!

I had both when I was pregnant last winter. Arm a bit sore afterwards. That was it.

Thanks!

When you google these things, you find all kinds of stories about people who felt sick for a week afterwards but I guess people who don't have any great drama afterwards don't tend to take to the internet to share their stories!!

Can live with a slightly sore arm!

The flu jab was absolutely fine, no side effects - but I had a sore arm for a few days after the whooping cough one. The baby was a bit quiet for around a day after the whooping cough one in that I couldn't feel him moving around so much, but that could have just been a coincidence. I had the flu jab around 20 weeks, and the whooping cough at 28 weeks.

Sore at the injection sites for about 24 hours and that was it. I didn't notice any reduction in fetal movement.

I would urge any pregnant woman to have the flu vaccine. Twenty one years ago today, our four week old daughter died suddenly, the post mortem showed that she died from influenza. At the time I had the flu. If the vaccine had been available then, I would have received it and my daughter would have been protected via the placenta and by being breastfed

I've had both recently. I can't remember which way around but after one I had a sore arm for a few days, after the other I was completely fine.

My arm hurt after flu jab but that was it. This year's vaccine is expected to have minimal side effects and be very effective. (NHS worker)

Both fine and easy and much more pleasant than Anti-D. That one hurt so badly!

Minispringroll · 09/12/2016 13:50

Had both and no side effects whatsoever, not even a sore arm.

LondonRoo · 09/12/2016 13:55

Serene - so sorry to hear about your daughter.

I didn't think twice about having them - as far as I'm concerned even if I was going to feel absolutely awful afterwards, I'd rather than risk a little newborn getting either flu or pertussis but it is good to hear lots of people have them with no issues at all!

Fingers crossed that'll be my experience too!

I had them both on the same day at same time as DS1 got his flu nasal vaccine so didn't have much time to think about actual injections! One of my arms was a bit sore after - think it was flu one - but no side affects at all.

StillaChocoholic · 09/12/2016 14:10

My arm hurt a little bit after them but I was fine otherwise.
Husband had his flu jab the other day and came home the next day saying he thinks he has flu, he's a bloody drama queen and he's fine.

Elvispresleyhasleftthebuilding · 09/12/2016 14:11

I had them both and felt fine - didn't even get a sore arm. I am very recently PG now and have already booked in for my flu shot.

SmallBee · 09/12/2016 14:14

I had both and was absolutely fine.

My gp reminded me that a lot of people who said they had side effects were probably already sick with a mild cold or something before the vaccine and it was just coincidence, as there are a lot of bugs around this time of year.

Nikki2ol6 · 09/12/2016 14:45

I had a sore arm and my baby didn't move much for a couple of days.... but I'm 36 weeks now and haven't caught flu or whooping cough 😁

UnicornPee · 09/12/2016 19:27

Just had mine today. No pain whatsoever

Jodie1982 · 09/12/2016 21:05

I was perfectly fine, very slight achy left arm from one of the jabs as that stung a tiny bit more than the other one. Was expecting to feel ropey as a lot of mummy to be's were.

sj257 · 09/12/2016 21:35

I had mine 2 weeks ago, in the same arm as nurse said better 1 sore arm than 2! It was sore for 2 or 3 days

user1468957349 · 10/12/2016 13:25

Flu no side effects at all. Whooping cough arm was a bit sore for a couple of days after but that was it. Well worth it!

Oysterbabe · 10/12/2016 14:55

I felt absolutely fine.
