For a while now I have been struggling to get to sleep at night. Nothing I do seems to be good enough. I am so uncomfortable and achy, funnily enough my knees seem to be the worst culprit, but starting to get aches and pains in my lower stomach when I've been on my side for too long aswell. Does anyone else have these problems or have any solutions or suggestions to help get a better nights sleep?

I always found a pillow under bump and one between knees helped. Wishing you lots of zzzzs.

Oh I remember the discomfort. The pillows were the only thing that helped me, although towards the end I ditched the one under my tum as bump was more comfy without it. Looking back, despite my struggles to sleep, I got far more then than I do now, with 9mth old. Hope the pillows work and good luck with birth and baby.

Pile up a couple of duvets and sleep on them. I also recommend a pillow between the knees.
I had severe spd and barely slept past 20 weeks, so I feel your pain.

I had a v pillow which I used to cuddle up to and then put my normal pillows between my legs for support. Could never get one comfy enough under my bump.

I was so bloody uncomfortable in those last few weeks but I still got more sleep back then than I do now Confused

I'm the same I'm 36 weeks too and my legs ache, my bladder hurts when I need to pee and I'm up about 3 times per night then often can't get back to sleep! I have a pregnancy pillow to cuddle and it does help but not an awful lot. I have no advice for you other than a relaxing bath just before bed

Thanks ladies. I have tried an assortment of pillows in various places (under bump, between legs, behind back) and since 30weeks it had seemed to lose the effect it once had.
3 times a night! Your lucky I honestly think I spent more time on the toilet than I did in bed last night. I didn't realise how much one person could wee 🙈

Hi lauren I don't have any words of wisdom except - I'm with you on this one! 37 weeks today and I've sent DH to the spare bedroom so I can toss and turn all night without waking him up. I've tried pillows between knees and ankles, blankets underneath me, lying flat, sitting up, and nothing really works excepts for being absolutely exhausted at which point I'll get an hour and a half at a time before the need to turn or pee wakes me up! On the plus side....we haven't got long to go before we meet our little ones and we'll see that it's worth it Smile

Same as you I'm nearly 38 weeks and just can't sleep properly so uncomfortable

coffeecuppa · 09/12/2016 18:45

Rain sounds! The only thing that helped me sleep in the last few weeks. I downloaded an app called Rain Rain. I continued to use it when DS arrived and he still has it on at night in his room.

I'm 34+2 with a large baby, night times are starting to become unbearable 😔

kath1987 · 10/12/2016 12:18

Pillows between the legs, bananas for the aching/restless legs, milky Horlicks for help sleeping. I've found all of these to ease things a little. Unfortunately I haven't found a remedy to stop the 6+ toilet trips through the night so still exhausted from that Shock
