Is this normal?

I am 9 weeks today and since last night I have been having on off stabbing pains in my lower stomach. It comes in waves almost like contractions but not as stong.

I had a scan on Monday and everything was fine with a strong heartbeat and a good crown rump length. However I'm worried as my last PG was a miscarriage.

I know I can't keep going for scans but I'm just worried about these pains. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Is it normal?

Thanks

Sorry, I don't know but if you have any worries see your GP.

Any chance it's a gut problem? How are your pregnancy symptoms? (Whenever I've miscarried, I've lost my pg symptoms a little while before the actual miscarriage.)

you do get a lot of streching and cramping pains in the first trimester , and on the whole they are perfectly normal...having seen a heartbeat is a really positive sign....it is an anxious time as you have had a previous miscarriage, but i suspect if there is no bleeding, you are having 'normal' stretching pain....BUT, if you are concerned at the amount and intensity of pain, see if you can get checked out x

I have been a little constipated notquitecockney and have just realeased it and it seems to have gone off so maybe that's what it is.

I still have my morning sickness and aching boobs! So hopefully I am just worrying over nothing.

I have been bleeding Lulumama all they way through this PG but they have found a small clot outside the pregnancy sac so they are not worried about it

I think if you're still having the symptoms, you're probably fine.

(I am not a big fan of going to the EPAU in these circumstances, as there is sod all they can do, anyway. I've done it a few times myself )

Kings College Hospital in London is fantastic. They have been so good to me they scan you everytime and give you the heart rate and crown rump length each time. You can go on self referall as well and they have said if ever I get worried I can have a reassurance scan whenever I like.

Saying that I have been 3 times during this PG and twice in the past 7 days! So I don't want to take the piss but if you live near there I would recommend it to anyone.

I have to say that for quite some weeks in my first trimester I had quite bad pains that were not dissimilar to bad period cramping. All advised me that this was definitely ligaments moving/stretching and nothing to worry about and it certainly seems they were right.
