Parent and child spaces... when heavily pregnant

Am I justified in using them at our local Tesco even when ds1 is not with me? Currently 39+1 and for the first time very uncomfortable and finding it difficult to walk far since baby dropped. Normally I am able to park relatively close anyway without resorting to parent/ child but the car park is having extensive work so there's a high demand for the closer spaces now since a third of the car park is closed. I'm not really sure what the parent/ child etiquette is, but have been using the spaces recently because I'm obviously heavily pregnant.

Why do you care if the OP is using them then?. Well I don't really, I already said that. I just don't think it's necessary, a post was made, asking a question, i answered it. Going against the grain, but not everyone is the same.

It just seems really odd that you even care

meadows someone parked next to me in a multi-storey so close I couldn't get through the gap with my bump so I had to ask a complete stranger to reverse my car out of the space in future I think will park in a mother and child space I only have 2 weeks until my due date the reason is because the spaces are wider- and I am with a child they are just inside me

I asked a question along a similar line a while back as I have bad spd and felt bad about using disabled loo (needed the handrail to be able to get up)
But yes I would use them, in my last pregnancy I didn't and got stuck in after I had paid had to waddle back to the machine and explain, the man on the other end told me to use the p&c space next time.
With Christmas coming up it is only going to get busier! Be careful as I find pushing a trolley aggravates my spd.

Meadows76 · 17/11/2016 10:23

It just seems really odd that you even care but it's not odd that all the people who agree care? Ok then.

Like I have said, I don't particularly care, I don't use the spaces and I never look at them to see who is using them. I did however just respond to a post like I do with posts on other subjects.

Andbabymakesthree · 17/11/2016 10:29

I'm nearly 34wks pregnant with dc3 who was 5lbs on scan two weeks ago.
SPD is hell ( chiropractor is amazing though). I was tempted by Parent and child space earlier but didn't. If youngest child is with us I absolutely do though as can't open door wide enough to lean in to do seatbelt.

I'd really not use them unless you need too. I wouldn't begrudge you using them if I saw you using them. I'll save my judgement for others!

SunnySideDownUp · 17/11/2016 10:32

I wouldn't judge, but then I'm 37 weeks pregnant myself and despite having a neat bump it still doesn't squish so I need that extra space. Plus when head is engaged every steps feels sore!

catsarenice · 17/11/2016 10:42

The biggest part of me is saying 'of course it's fine - must be difficult moving around' but I must admit to having a small part of me saying 'yet presumably you manage to walk around a supermarket...'.

Bumplovin · 17/11/2016 11:53

navy and white I would have tried that but couldn't get in the other side either. It was so annoying as I was on way to have a scan and I had to hunt around for someone prepared to move my car it made me late- if Id had paper on me they'd have got note from me too!!

megletthesecond · 17/11/2016 11:57

It's fine IMO. I found it hard to get out with a huge bump if another car parked too close.

Blue2014 · 17/11/2016 12:42

I walk around the supermarket whilst resting on the trolley - and it takes me bloody ages. I couldn't do it without the trolley
