I'm 10 weeks pregnant and may be worrying for nothing, but can anyone offer any advice or suggestions?
I've been reading P and B magazine and lots of online stuff about the first trimester - which all say that the first three months are very tiring and exhausting and also suggest tips for morning sickness and headaches etc..... anyway, I haven't suffered at all from any of these things. The only clue I have to being pregnant are much bigger boobs. I'm worried that my baby isn't developing properly or is doing it too slowly. Any advice?

I did't have any morning sickness when i pg with dd. Although i didn't find out i was pg until 10weeks the only thing i had was that i was very tired all the time.

With this pregancy (my 2nd) again no morning sickness just realy sore and bigger boobs.

Don't worry to much not everyone has it.

With ds I was a tiny bit more tired, but not sick at all. This time I am utterly, crushingly tired. Every pg is different.

Thanks for that. DP said there was nothing to worry about (like he would know?!) but it's great to hear it from other mums. Ta very much. Let's hope the rest of the pregnancy is as easy as this!

Hi Emalushka,

I found I was preganant at 5 weeks, and did not have any sickness/nausea at all. Quite a few friends have also not had any. I was really pleased as I hate being sick anyway! Even when I had the first scan I was convinced they would not find anything - but seeing my ds moving was one of the best moments of my life - enjoy and good luck!

hi,
When did you have your first scan?

speak to your midwife as it's different depending on where you live.

Where i am we have one between 12 - 14 weeks and then again at 20weeks.

LEMONADEGIRL · 14/02/2007 09:01

my first scan was at 12 weeks, but as lizziemun says it does vary.

Wheelybug · 14/02/2007 09:15

ema - with my first pregnancy I was really well, esp. during the first 12 weeks ! No sickness (although bizarrely I had some from about 12 weeks, no tiredness. Nothing.

With my second pregnancy, I was feeling sick and was sick from 5 weeks, tired, hurting boobs etc etc. I miscarried at 7 weeks.

So... please try not to worry.

As for scans round here they do 12 weeks but some places don't.

If you want to find out when you'll get a scan, speak to your community midwife. Your hospital will give you the number.

i was told with DS that i would only have 1 scan, at 20wks.

i found a way round this however- if you opt for all the tests you can have, inc the downs blood test, you get a 12wk scan.

it out my mind at rest seeing him at 12wks (and knowing there was just one in there!)

Emalushka hello and congratulations!

If I could go back in time and do one thing differently at the beginning of this pregnancy I would stop reading those magazines and websites!

Because they're written for a huge number of women, they just write about the "average" or majority experience.

I suffered from nausea and vomiting throughout the first fourteen weeks of this pregnancy, and beyond. But it was really sporadic; I'd be fine for a few days, and then it would start again. Because the magazines say it doesn't start to ease up until the end of the twelve weeks, every time it stopped I was terrified. I know that sounds so silly but it is my first! Same with so many other things, if I differed from the "average" as described in most pregnancy magazines / web sites, I would panic.

It wasn't until I joined Mumsnet at about 20 weeks and got onto the March Antenatal Thread that I realised everyone's experience is different.

For example, take morning sickness. Some people feel sick, some people are sick, some people get admitted into hospital because they can't stop being sick, and some people don't get sick at all! Some it stops at nine weeks, some at twelve, some at 20, some people it never stops!

Get off babycentre and get on here instead!

Good luck with everything.
