I'm 35 weeks. Normally baby is crazy active in the morning. Today I haven't felt anything. Did all the usual tricks, nothing. Phoned in and told to come in. So obviously I've paid my parking, done my urine sample, I'm waiting to be seen, and he's started moving...

I feel like such a time waster. Should I just collect my notes and go home?

This is actually my third, but 1 and 2 did not monkey about with movements like this one does!!

It's never time wasting if baby isn't moving. Explain the situation to someone and see if they still want to see you.

I would wait and be seen. There could be something going on despite movement restarting. Don't worry, they would always rather see you and nothing be wrong, than the alternative.

You're NOT a timewaster. Let them check you and baby out and put your mind fully at ease. I had something similar in my last pregnancy and felt awful when it turned out to be nothing, kept apologising for wasting their time. The midwife gave me a big hug and said "babies are too precious to risk - we'd rather check a thousand women to find everything's OK than to find one with any problems". Hope all goes well.

Best way to get babies to move is to go in, I swear as soon as you're in there waiting to be Seen they wake up haha!

You did the right thing and always stay to be monitored even if he does start moving because you've still had a decrease in movement and it's best to be checked. Good luck!

I did the same 3 times! I swear she woke up in the hospital.

Thanks all. He went mad on the monitor (so did my braxton hicks!), bit they've booked me a scan for tomorrow as it's his second go at reduced movements.

Never ever worry about reporting reduced movement. Britain has an unusually high stillbirth rate and I wonder myself if it isn't partly attributable to the very civic sense of not wanting to waste NHS resources that leads people not to follow up on concerns. Even if the baby began moving after a worrying period, the quiet period might, just might, be a warning sign. So it always needs investigating. The vast, vast majority of cases obviously will be absolutely fine but there is no downside if your own observations tell you something might have been unusual or wrong. Get it checked out. Even now with the best modern technology, maternal observation of changes in foetal movement is still one of the most important early warning signs that there can be. So don't ever ignore it.

Sabe thing happened to me last eweek I felt bad but the hospital was lovely. Better to be safe than sorry.
