Using Snuzpod with a high bed?

I was planning on buying a Snuzpod for DD2 and thought I'd just check the measurements before I bought it . We have a box spring bed that it 59/60 cm high and from reading online it's not recommended to use the Snuzpod with a bed higher than 57cm. Will it matter if our mattress is a couple of cm higher than the Snuzpod? I guess it's not recommended in case the baby rolls over into the parents' mattress? Has anybody else used one with a high bed?

Can you not just put the snuzpod on some large books or something to raise it to the right level? We had this issue with our sidecar crib and did that

It does matter, yes. We had the same issue.

I did two things- used thick planks of wood to raise it off the floor and used a second mattress.

The height difference makes it dangerous as baby could potentially get trapped between cot and bed.

I'm so glad I read this as we have a snuzpod ready for DS and a high bed. Will get DF on the case with building a platform for it to stand on. Hopefully that will be sufficiently safe.

Thanks for the replies! Using a second mattress sounds like a good idea. The Snuzpod one is 3cm so if I get two it should fit perfectly.

I'm just updating this in case anybody else has the same issue. I spoke to the manufacturer and they do not recommend adding a second mattress nor using planks under the bed for safety reasons.

Apparently the need for the mattresses to be flush is more to avoid any injury to the baby when moving it from the Snuzpod to your bed in the night. Once the baby becomes more mobile (and could roll against the parents' mattress) the Snuzpod should not be used anymore as a co-sleeper anyway.
