Will AXA PPP cover c-section which is medically necessary?

I am 35 weeks pregnant and the baby is footling breech so it is looking like a C-section at 39 weeks will be necessary. I will be having the baby at Chelsea and Westminster and interested to know if anyone has had any luck getting AXA PPP to cover a private room for the recovery? I'm not bothered about the actual operation, happy for that to be done by the NHS but a private room for after would make such a difference. I have called up but they were very non committal and told me I should ring up when I know for sure the situation.

Oooh, this is interesting. I'll probably end up with an elcs. I'd love a private room after if it's available. I might get hubby to call axa and see!

If you have an 'off the shelf' Domestic plan then probably not as the policies don't cover routine pregnancy, and while your c section may be necessary it is still planned and routine (as opposed to an emcs because there are complications at birth). If your policy is more bespoke (corporate plans sometimes have different benefits) then you might have more luck.
Rubbish that the OP didn't get a definite answer on her first call though, hope you guys have more luck!

Ours is bespoke and corporate. I will give a call if the baby not turned in two weeks time.
