Last year i had a missed miscarriage so this time round i have been worried about everything ( I am 12 weeks )

I had a scan a 7 weeks at local nhs hospital because i had a bleed, everything fine heartbeat seen, but since then i have a scan at 10 weeks and 13 ( will be) for the nucal (sp) but i have gone private for these, i think alot of it was because i could have more scans and i need that reassurance.
Well my NHS Hospital rang me this morning to give me my 12 week scan with them and i dont know whether i should go or not as i know that the NHs are short of money and i have already had private scans or just go along and have anthore one, My Morals are kicking in.....

So the long and short of it is what would you do??????

If it were me, I'd probably cancel the private 13 week scan and take the free one to save some money. But if you've already paid, I'd probably cancel the NHS one. Since you are having a moral dilemma, I suspect you feel that you should cancel the NHS one too!

For me it would depend on how expert my private sonographer had been. I went private to a clinic with extremely experienced ultrasound specialists and state of the art kit, so didn't bother with NHS, but have heard a couple of horror stories about private ultrasound providers who were more focused on providing 3D "look my baby's on the telly" entertainment than diagnostics!

My private place is good but it is not a fetal center it is called medical imagining centre and they dont have dootors/nurses to talk to ?

Seems like so long ago with my DS but if i go for nhs scan (12 week) do i get to see anyone afterwards /

You say you need the extra re-assurance Pinkranger so my temptation would be to go for the NHS one as well. Mind you since I had problems with my last pregnancy I've become a scan junky but I know that with each scan I feel better and more confident about the pregnancy. So I think that if it will make you feel better in any way then you should go for it.
