Oh bless you Smile but congratulations.

No practical help for twins as I only have two kids, 7 years apart!! However my DS is 16mo and in 2-3yo clothes; he weighs a tonne and is tall. On holiday I learnt how to back carry him in a sling but you can get all sorts of carriers if you fancy something with clips. The sling with a rucksack carry and tibetian tie was excellent at distributing his weight and we went all round castles with me carrying him. I'd maybe suggest finding a sling meet and try some out before you get too big. I've certainly found being able to sling DS really helpful and he's lighter on my back than me carrying him in my arms or trying to put him on my front (where I can't see my feet!).

Hi OP. We found out our twins sex at 16 weeks and that they were fraternal, each with their own sac, fluid and placenta. So yes you should be able to find out!

Yes we did find it hard when ours were tiny but then again they were our first and last DC so we had zero experience of babies in general - you have loads, so that will help.

They were born at 32+1 so were tiny (but thank goodness healthy). Spent first three wks in SBU, then shared cot in our bedroom for first few weeks at home followed by shared cot in their own room. Gradually moved into separate cots when started to get bigger.

They are identical, but DH and I have always been able to tell them apart except with backs turned and hoods up. Tend to colour code or dress differently though to help other people, and def now they're in same class at school (diff groups at nursery). Left to own devices they often choose to be dressed the same.

We had a double sling but only used once - even though they were tiny it just felt huge and impractical and didn't work for us. Found it easier to take one each in a single sling.

I thought I'd never cope but I adore my twins and wouldn't swap them for the world. And it does get much much easier as they get older - with 8 you probably won't appreciate the "instant playmate" thing so much, but it has been a massive plus for us.

Good luck! Flowers
