32 weeks. Feeling less movement??

Hi everyone. I am 32 weeks pregnant & a ftm. During the last month or so i've been feeling my daughter a lot less. I've been for ctgs at the hospital multiple times & all have been well. I've even had 3 scans in the last month & in all of them my daughter has been fine. When I'm at the hospital she seems to kick up a storm but when i get home she barely moves. I feel like at the hospital they think i'm crazy as when i get there she's fine. I really don't know what to do, she was the most active baby ever now she barely moves. Do you think this could just be her routine as around this time they have sleep schedules? I have monitoring three times a week & weekly scans due to not feeling her but the multiple doctors i've spoken to all agree that she is fine and the monitor is purely down to reassure me. This week her movements have been even less, even though at my scan yesterday all was fine. Do you think she could of changed positions? I can normally feel her bum around my belly button area now I can't & i feel hiccups in a different place. I just feel like i'm constantly worrying, i barely sleep at night because i'm watching out for her movements. I really don't know how i'm going to get through this next eight weeks. Any advice? Has anyone been through the same thing?

Good luck. Ask if they can monitor and check fluid levels x

user1471927379 · 23/10/2016 23:13

I am on monitor now, have been on it for about 45 minutes. Baby has only moved twice & her heartrate dropped to 80 for a few seconds. Midwife said she is probably sleeping but I don't know, they are gonna keep me on a bit longer and see what a dr says.

I thought you're not supposed to try and influence your baby's movement by drinking sugary drinks as if there's a problem it won't be picked up because you've reassured yourself everything is fine when it may not be.

Anyway i hope all is well op.

user1471927379 · 24/10/2016 03:27

Really neonrainbow ? My midwife recommended i do that when I don't feel herConfused. They are keeping me overnight because her heartrate was really fast & although it recovered they just want to be safe. I was in a bit of pain and they were picking up something on the monitor, midwife said 'irritable uterus' not sure what that is. She was really erratic at one point but then they gave me fluids via a drip and she eventually calmed down a bit,not feeling her much again but the drs had a look at the trace & they think she is okay so they are just keeping me as precaution really. Drs will come in the morning so i will know what will happen then i guess. X

Kicks count charity recommend you don't too . Here. www.kickscount.org.uk/mums/your-babys-movements/

If you have noticed your baby’s movements have slowed down, call your midwife or maternity unit. Do not consume large quantities of something to prompt your baby to kick as this may give indigestion or gurgles you may mistake for movements and give false reassurance.

If you are unsure if your baby’s movements have slowed down, take some time to focus on movements.

Andbabymakesthree · 24/10/2016 08:31

My midwife has said it to me too . Outdated advice unfortunately.

Good you've been kept in to check things over. Hopefully you got some sleep, done breakfast and a chat with doctor on ward rounds will give you a plan of action.

eatsleephockeyrepeat · 24/10/2016 10:46

I hope your night in hospital wasn't too uncomfortable user - let us know how you get on this morning Brew

user1471927379 · 24/10/2016 12:31

Andbabymakesthree wow i guess that's really dangerous advice incase baby isn't okay and mums are reassured falsely. I am home now, the doctor came and reviewed me & she thought i was fine to go home as i had been put on monitor early this morning and dd was fine. They think her heartrate being fast is due to me being dehydration, was also in quite a bit of pain and midwife mentioned something about irritable uterus although their not worried about it so i'm not. Since ive gotten home baby hasn't stopped moving & ive been home an hour and a half lol so feel a bit sillyBlush: i'm just glad she's okay and definitely better to be safe than sorry.

True. Kinda panicking again as bubs movements seem to be reduced again since this afternoon. I'm starting to think this is her pattern, will be active for a few days then quieter for a few. I'm going to keep an eye on it because i mean i am feeling her quite frequently but less so than usual

Just to update again. Bubs is moving but i am in absolute agony i have not slept the whole night. I don't think its contractions cause i had the pain at the hospital & they said it wasn't. A constant period pain that radiates up on my right side. Even sore to touch, very very painful. Think i may go back as I really can't cope with this pain at home, making me nauseous.

Ouch definitely go back. It could be pregnancy relayed or bowel related but it needs checking out. Hope they sort it soon

user1471927379 · 25/10/2016 13:34

Hi everyone so I went back to get checked and they have decided to keep me in until 37 weeks, I honestly think this is the best plan for me as i am constantly worried about myself or baby. They don't know what is causing the pain but think it could just be baby pushing down on a nerve so they are going to continue to monitor me. Not long until i met bubs now although i am terrified & want her to be kept in as long as she needs to be.

You are definitely in the best place op. Try to relax and look after yourself. You are very nearly there.

Andbabymakesthree · 25/10/2016 17:45

Definitely in right place. They have checked for utilities or kidney infection haven't they?

What about a scan?

user1471927379 · 25/10/2016 18:30

Hiya. I am definitely more relaxed while i am here, when a doctor comes tomorrow i will ask about that as its weird for the pain to keep being there. They did check my urine and all was fine, think i will have a scan soon.

I don't mean to scare you but I'd ask midwife in charge tonight what they have done to rule out placenta abruption and when they will scan you.

user1471927379 · 25/10/2016 19:26

No you definitely didn't scare me. I will ask and update

Yep have been calling in favours already but i am 34 weeks and 3 days todayso haven't got that long until 37 weeks. Time is going slow but atleast i feel safest here, even while I've been here her movements have been very decreased & they put me on monitor and she starts wriggling again Hmm. But atleast i know she's fine x
