If you didn't get stretch marks with your 1st and 2nd - did you get some with your 3rd?

That really.
At n3 is it still down to genetics or does your body eventually 'stretch'?

Never had stretch marks due to pregnancy or weight gain/loss.

Did not use any oils or other preventative treatment on skin
Went back to pre-pregnancy weight each time within a fortnight of giving birth.
Weigh less now/smaller clothes size than when I got married even though I am post menopausal
Hair not gone grey either and am heading towards 60
All genetic I am sure - I have done nothing to try to ensure the above have happened.

None at all with 1 or 2, some very thick deep ones with number 3. Who weighed virtually the same as number 1 and came only 2 years after number 2. Not happy.

I've heard that stretch marks in pregnancy are down to how big you were before you got pregnant. If you're larger around the waist then you're likely to get them. No idea if this true? Can any skinny minnies confirm if they got stretch marks when they were pregnant?

1 successful pregnancy and horrific stretch marks plus a belly button that looked like Jabba the Hutts mouth. Yes I did bio oil etc.

However, things seem to be recovering slowly! Weird. So maybe mine are easy come easy-ish go?

Fridge Not true. I had a 26 inch waist before and a 25 inch waist now. Not through anything bar genetics - I'm a hobbit essentially and carry weight in my bum.

Two babies and no stretch marks. My mum (3) and sister didn't get any either, same as my cousin. My mum's belly button has gone crinkly, and mine is going that way, but no stretch marks.

I did use oil with my first pregnancy, but it eased the burning feeling of tight, stretched skin.

1st none. 2nd a few. Nothing serious and scars I am proud of.

Happyhippy45 · 12/10/2016 23:38

I was skinny for both......stretch marks on the 2nd only

I'm average build 5'5", 9.5 stones and had two whoppers: 9.10 & 9.3. I put on four stones in each pregnancy. I ate very healthily - loads of organic veg, wholemeal grains, eggs, fish etc (just followed my massive appetite!) and used Pai's body lotion and oil. I have some faint silvery marks but you can only see them in certain lights. The skin is a bit more crepey and my belly button is different and I won't wear a bikini at the moment but overall not very different, possibly a bit better for doing more exercise and boozing less and being more toned. Swings and roundabouts! My poor mum on the other hand has awful stretch marks and is very self conscious about them. So, I don't know if it's purely genetics as I'm otherwise very similar to my mum or good diet and creams.

Saying that, I would happily have tiger stripes for my beautiful girls.

I was/am 8stone so not sure the skinny thing holds true really. I think there is some genetics but mostly down to luck.

I used dermalmd stretch mark serum throughout my entire pregnancy and didn't get any stretch marks! I applied the product 1x a day and 2x a day during the 3rd trimester.

1 here and no stretch marks.

Mia, please start a new thread if you want to discuss stretch marks, instead of bumping multiple very old ones.
