Hi gals, I have a sneaking suspicion my best mate may be preggers, or getting with child very soon - any ideas for what to put in a survuval pack for her?

So far I'm thinking:
stretch-mark massage cream
breast pads
knicker liners
a bottle of gaviscon
a sleep mask to make those afternoon naps easier
a pack of ginger biscuits and ginger tea
jumbo box of tissues
a home-made licence to wear her jammies EVERYWHERE

Any ideas???

funkydiva · 10/06/2004 13:26

Great Idea!
My best friend gave me The Best Friends Guide to Pregnancy by Vicki Iovine (think that the same one Thomcat mentioned) - its a lovely book and more special because its from her.
DS here now and I got her Best Friends Guide to Motherhood, also v good!

Wish I'd been given one! Subscription to a pregnancy magazine?

CountessDracula · 10/06/2004 15:04

Pregnancy massage? Check with your local massage place, lots do them now.

A belly belt /linkwww.bumpto3.com/products/details/index_50.html\Here{} I found it invaluable

sponge · 10/06/2004 15:58

How about a subscription to Mumsnet

highlander · 10/06/2004 18:49

a red, lacy sexy bra in a big size for those moments when she's fed up with being fat (and having everyone comment on it)

aloha · 10/06/2004 19:12

Nice, luxurious things. Gorgeous body oil, cute mini-sizes of pampering things. A light novel. A voucher for pedicures. I think your idea is incredibly kind and lovely, but personally think I might have killed myself if I'd been given breast pads - didn't fit into my idea of my blooming self at all!
Not everyone is sick or has heartburn or piles - I had none of the above. But everyone loves some delicious smellies and a pair of cashmere booties. Or was that just me?! Mind you chocolate and biscuits of all kinds are good. And there was that research that said chocolate eating mothers had happier babies...

bunny2 · 10/06/2004 19:56

A 25 cl bottle of vino? It provides 2 glasses which, I think, is allowed every now and then.

Book of babies names (I have 3 of them and still cant choose but they are fun reading).

A skimpy thong (fit under the belly) - Dorothy Perkins do nice ones in little cardboard packs.

Chocolate of course
