Hi ladies

I'm 39 + 4 weeks and started to get twinging cramp like pains in my tummy last night but they haven't built up to anything. Today when I was at the shop I felt an incredible pressure in my bum like I needed a poo and when I went to the toilet when I pushed I got cramp stabbing like pains right down my bum into the back of my knees and in my groin area. The pains eventually went away even though I didn't move my bowels. It happened again about half an hour later I managed to move my bowels but wasn't much and my belly was rock solid both time! I looked on my pants and this was what was on it....can this be my mucus plug and things are finally starting??????

Which it now has. As MNHQ obviously agree

I reported it so nobody else could come on and complain about the lack of warning which was obviously upsetting the OP.

Hmm

I don't know why anyone clicked on the thread of they were so grossed out. Anyway, that's not what mine looked like. Mine was bloody brownish and very slimy. In fact I remember what's apping a photo to my H at work and him being very alarmed. Grin good luck for the birth and baby's arrival!

Hi Amy, how are you feeling now? Like some of the others my MP was sort of hard and jelly like with a bit of blood too. The discharge carried on for a whole weekend. That was two weeks before I gave birth so not sure how much of a sign it is in terms of speed of things happening thereafter. However my first sign of labour was when I thought I needed a poo - three times - about half an hour apart! I was in denial thinking it was constipation but turned out to be the real deal. So this may well be the start of things happening!! Good luck whatever happens and keep us posted.xxx

ICanCountToOneHundred · 09/09/2016 14:23

Good luck and I hope your little girl arrives soon.

It looks like normal pregnancy discharge to me, but then I never lost my mucus plug with my first so what do I know!!! I would expect from what I have read it to be more brown or pink stained if it was the plug.

Good luck though Op.

TSSDNCOP · 09/09/2016 17:37

Any news OP? Please please don't forget to post more pictures-we definitely want one of your little girl!!!

TSSDNCOP · 09/09/2016 17:38

To icancount nice job.

AmyAmy29 · 09/09/2016 18:35

Had the pains again and having twinges and Braxton hicks are getting stronger now so hopefully it won't be long!! I will be sure to post a photo of her! Had a growing scan the other day and they seen lots of hair on the scan so hoping she was like me and has a head full!

Hi, I lost my mucus plug before my due date, a lot more jelly like and clearer, your photo looks like normal discharge to me. Anyhow I ended up having a c-section at 15 days over as I hadn't gone into labour, even though I was induced! So not necessarily a pointer to labour anyway. Good luck hope it is soon for u, the wait is horrendous near the end. I'm 32 weeks with my 2nd now and hope it's different from my first! X

allthecarbs · 09/09/2016 23:53

Why would you click on a thread about a mucus plug if you weren't expecting details about the mucus plug?? Confused

Good luck op! That doesn't look like the plug but hopefully it won't be long. I'm Envy about your newborn snuggles.

AmyAmy29 · 11/09/2016 14:44

I think it looks like thrush?

Soubriquet · 11/09/2016 14:47

That doesn't look like my plug at all

Mine was jelly like but had a bloody tinge too it but it could still be your mucus plug

However not to get your hopes up, you can actually lose your plug weeks before your birth

AmyAmy29 · 11/09/2016 14:52

Thrush?? I've had thrush several times and never had a large gloopy sticky clump like that before....

OP posts:
The2Ateam · 11/09/2016 14:57

I did when I was pregnant with my daughter.

allthecarbs · 11/09/2016 14:59

No that's not your plug. The plug is the same gooey but a lot more of it. Like loads more.

AmyAmy29 · 11/09/2016 15:01

I haven't been itchy or anything...should I maybe phone the doctors and make an appointment?

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 11/09/2016 15:04

Can't hurt to make an appoitment

ladylambkin · 11/09/2016 15:08

I think your body is just getting ready to be honest, you might not even notice passing the plug, I know mines must have happened at some point during labour with my DD but never saw it.

Good luck for the birth whenever it may be and just rest up and enjoy these last few days before you are a mum Flowers

Kiwi31 · 20/08/2017 13:23

I have just had this same discharge in my underwear and I don't recall having this in my other 2 pregnancies. I'm currently 33+6 and have been having pressure and painful braxton hicks for the past week or so on and off. I'm needing advice on this
