I think I have just about everything for baby wrote down but I am struggling to remember what I need for myself.

I am having a planned section and I am packing enough stuff just for a one night stay although if I am a morning section I will be discharging myself the same day. This is my third section but my mind just doesn't want to work. I'm bottle feeding so won't need anything to breastfeed in but so far my list stands at a nightie for when I come out of theatre!

I have major baby brain and most lists I've looked at include a load of shite that nobody ever needs or uses! It is really stressing me out how unorganised I am this time around!

I had my DS at 9:34am. Was up out of bed by tea time, was supposed to be up after dinner but they were short staffed so they never got round until later. Was in shower at 8pm after parents had fetched my oldest to visit. DP left at about half 8 to pick his Mam up. They came and walked me around to the ward at 9pm and I would of asked to go home then if DP hadn't already left.
Only had the one dose of morphine in theatre then was just paracetamol and ibuprofen. Was completely back to normal after a week, back driving after two and then back to the gym after 3. I have a very high pain threshold and I heal
Really quickly too. Even after my emergency section with my first I was perfectly fine after a week or so. Midwives have commented how quick I have recovered. Xx

Bexta147 · 08/09/2016 09:57

Did you have spinal block? I'm suprised you couldn't feel your legs still. It normally wears off after a few hours.

You are like superwoman :) I didn't get my catheter out till the next morning each time. Then it was up and about that day. I definitely couldn't have been back to gym after three week. With my first I was in hospital for almost a week as I was really ill and with my second I had a blood clot in my leg. That's great you will be back on your feet quickly, will make things easier for you if you have other kids at home.

Some plastic bags for soiled clothing.

StrawberrytallCake · 08/09/2016 15:10

Facial wipes & moisturiser
Lip balm
bottle of water (tap water at hospital always tastes gross to me) & maybe some of those little cordial shots.
Snacks
Pjs x2 just in case you have to stay in (shorter sleeves? Maternity wards are hot)

Yeah spinal block and had my catheter in for 2 days and massive swelling to but felt right as rain 2 weeks later would never had managed the gym tho xx
