Hi,
Im wondering if someone can help me or give me some advice. Im 23 and first time pregnant. My morning sickness has been terrible and don't seem to have an appetite, I feel like im forcing myself to eat. My back is absolutely killing me and iv got constant dull pain in my hips, im so tired I cant even function when I'm at work - I don't think im coping very well with everything at once, im tying to focus on the good like having a baby at the end, but it seems so long away. im 13 weeks pregnant. Is this normal?

Im just eating what I feel like at the time, most of the time that's just plain pasta, ice poles and toffee sundaes from mcdonalds, not very balanced haha!!

I'm a teacher and fell asleep in the afternoon at school a couple of times a week in the 1st trimester! My TA would send me for some fresh air and cover the class while I woke myself up! I also felt constantly nauseated and ate lots of crackers to stop it.

I'm 33+5 now and tired again, but that's owing to baby's night time gymnastics waking me up! It does get better, and as pps have said baby's movements are exciting in 3rd trimester (not when it stretches to full extent, head pushing bladder and feet in ribs though!)

The drug pp mentioned is cyclizine and it does help with nausea. I originally thought the drowisness came from that but when I stopped taking it and was still tired, I realised it wasn't the cyclizine so much as being pregnant! I felt so sick it was unbearable but just one tablet a day helped (maybe only taking one a day is why I didn't feel so tired from that?) You can take 3 a day but it's upto how you feel to what you do.
I came off it around 12 weeks when my kids had finished school & nursery for the summer holidays so I knew I didn't have to go out or on public transport (incase it was too soon to stop).
This will be my 4th baby (and last!) And it isn't all plain sailing but once your past the initial stages of feeling like crap, you should start to enjoy it.

I felt pretty rubbish until about 14 weeks, including passing out on the train home from work at 13 weeks, and some very sympathetic chap walked me to DH's car who had come to pick me up from the station. I then proceeded to be sick as a dog overnight with such awful cramps that I was convinced that I had food poisoning so ended up in A&E at 7am. Some fluids, anti-sickness and anti-spasmodics later and I was home. Felt better after a couple of days and baby fine.

2nd trimester was fine although I have always hated the ever decreasing mobility. Now I'm 38 weeks and just huge. PP made me laugh with the comment about full out stretching, double attack on bladder and ribs.....I hear you! Ouch!

Definitely see your GP about the sickness, don't suffer just because you think you have no choice. See what can be done. Hugs Flowers
