Reduced movement- what should I do

I had lots of movement yesterday afternoon during which I think baby did a big position change.

Today I've not felt anywhere near as many movements as usual but I am still getting some. The ones I am getting are lower down and further back and a duller thud rather than feet sticking out of my stomach like usual.

I rang midwife who said because I have had more than 10 movements today not to worry too much and to wait until this evening to see if movements pick up. If they don't I can go in for monitoring tonight.

Problem is I'm meant to be going to an evening wedding reception later and never get many movements when up and mobile so won't really notice whether it's increased.

I've been laid on sofa and am now getting more movement but still in a different place so I do think it's just that baby is now laid differently.

Should I go to wedding or stay home?

Glad to hear you're feeling more movements now. Not sure what I'd do in this situation now. Possibly call again just to talk it through with the/a midwife again. Either way, if you are still concerned I'd be pushing for some monitoring. Good luck!

Decided to go to the wedding for an hour but got my notes in car and will see how it goes later. Getting quite a few kicks in car on way there!

Hope all is well and you enjoyed the wedding!

The loud music seemed to wake him/her up as we were back to normal last night and getting plenty of movement this morning too.

He/she is definitely in a different place to the last few days as I'm feeling it differently.

My baby turned completely at 37 weeks and felt hardly any movements the next day, so went straight over to be monitored. The midwife said, baby is fine, head down, no problem? She tried to make me feel like i overvreacted, but the doctor came in and sent me for a scan, the baby was breech.

so in summary, a midwife cant tell anything over the phone and sometimes not even in real life.

Don't ever be afraid to get checked over if something doesn't feel right. Good luck with everything x
