Seriously. Is it true that women have periods all throughout their pregnancies or is it a great big fat myth.

Btw, this is really a "please put my mind at rest cos I am pooing myself" thread

I did with both pgs

both lighter but at the right time

Neither rare nor impossible I'd say. With this pregnacy I went for a scan at 6 wks and found out I was actually 9wk 4 days... so obviously what I thought was the first date of last period was complete rubbish as I must have been pregant at that time. It seemed exactly like a period to me...

Also my cousin had 2 pregnancies she didn't know about till about 5-6 mths as she'd been having very regular periods.

Sorry....but good luck tho!

Yes, sorry I was the same, had shock of my life with first pg when went to hospital thinking i was about 8 weeks and found out I was 12plus. It meant that the extremely drunken wedding I'd been to where I'd smoked a packet of fags, plus a holiday in France where I'd drunk half a bottle a day, eaten nothing but soft cheeses and shellfish and pate were all during the pregnancy whereas I thought I'd got away with them, not to mention my due date came forward nearly two months, It was exactly like a normal period and arrived on the usual day. Had it also with pg 2, though this time I was expecting it and did notice it was a lighter bleed than usual.Sorry! It's called breakthrough bleeding (knew this from an episode of ER) and happens when the embryo implants on the womb. Good luck and hope your situation is different

Me too I'm afraid.
Got my period bang on time, only bit heavier and longer than usual. Felt a bit off the week after it finished, an oddly familiar sensation that I remembered from my first pregnancy. After a few glasses one night, decided 'what the hell, I'll do a test though it's bound to be negative'. Only it wasn't
Dr's think I miscarried a twin early on and that's what the bleeding was. Felt just like a normal period. Am now 35weeks with this little one and I'm only just getting used to the idea!
