Panicking - I've got a rash

Noticed a rash on my chest earlier, didn't think too much of it, been out in the sun today, however just got undressed for bed and my stomach and thighs are covered in a pin prick type rash that's under the skin. Now I'm panicking 😔

It could be heat rash - try a cool shower and a cold cloth on your forehead. Also try immersing your hands and or feet in very cold water (helps to reduce body temp quickly. Is it itchy at all?

No,it isn't itchy, think that is why I'm worried, as it's under the skin little red dots all over 😕

Have you tried the glass test? Do you feel at all unwell in any other respect with any symptoms that have shown up today eg raised temperature, headache, nausea ?

Have you been socialising with anyone whose been ill recently as it could be a viral rash.
The rash associated with Meningitis does start as red pin pricks which then become blotchy. If pressure is applied whilst rolling a glass over the rash and the rash does not fade then this could be Meningitis - you would need to go straight to A&E urgently.
However if you are unsure about the rash then the best thing to do is ring NHS 111 and they can advise you esp as you are pregnant.
If it was heat rash the best treatment is to keep cool and take antihistamines but some of these are not safe to take when pregnant.

On the phone to111 now, in a real state

Easy for me to say but try not to stress and panic especially if you aren't exhibiting any other symptoms as it won't do you or the baby any good - they will ask lots of questions and advise you what to do.

Hope you are ok sj.

Hey,
It could be PUPPP? I've had this too - doctor said it's totally harmless and common side effect of pregnancy. Best to get checked out obviously but just to let you know that it could be harmless SmileFlowers

Thanks ladies, I got a call back from the doctor about 1.30. She said I could be seen but it would be 4am. I ended up leaving it and going to the GP this morning. He was a young doctor and didn't have a clue, truly baffled. Anyway I'm feeling well so I'm sure it's OK. I have anxiety and my mind automatically jumps to worst case scenario all the time. Just wish I could feel baby regularly as that would put my mind at rest, but I am only 15+1 so only just started feeling it x
