I'm 14 weeks, and in the last couple weeks I've just been in pain; from the top of my bum to my groin area , feels like my bones are going to break in two. When I turn in bed my legs kill, it really feels like somethings broken (down there).. is anyone else feeling similar, or can tell me what this is?

Thanks! :)

It sounds like it might be pelvic girdle pain. You can get a referral to the physio via your GP or Midwife.

ElspethFlashman · 04/07/2016 11:11

Yeah that's SPD. It's brutal. You need to phone the midwife and get a referral to Physio. They can do maniputions that help and will also give you a belly band thing.

Bad news is that paracetamol doesn't touch it and it really only goes fully with birth. So physio is your only relief really.

If it's mega bad they give you crutches and advise you to buy a hip girdle. Also, codeine is often prescribed.

Mines been pretty consistent from 16w if that's any reassurance. Pain wise I mean. Now 36 w. My only issue with time passing is my mobility, pain not worse but can't walk as far even on sticks as I get bigger.

I had to give up work at 24wks as I have a job with a lot of walking. Am now 29wks and really can only walk for 5/10mins so feel quite useless really. Am awaiting my physio referral which should come through this week. I should have gotten myself referred long ago tbh. Here's hoping it helps a bit!

I was signed off work at 28 weeks. The pain is constant but manageable but only if I don't push myself. You'll learn quickly what you can and can do - I don't lift washing/the vac, only taking the dog on short walks and the dog walker walks him properly etc. It's very frustrating but every time I have pushed myself I end up worse and able to do less. Take painkillers regularly. Try not to get too down, and get a physio referral asap
