Problems on trains home from London today - they were so packed that when I thought I was going to faint (I'm 15 wks Sunday and I get light-headed on trains) I had to sit on the floor. But there was only a tiny tiny bit of floor with no room to stretch my legs, so spent joourney with stomach pressed against my folded-up legs. When I finally got a seat after an hour, my stomach muscles really hurt and I'm petrified the baby's been squashed or had supplies of something vital cut off, or something.
I realise that I should be worrying about my lack of sanity, but please reassure me - even if it's that I'm being daft...

You're being daft. Have a nice lie down and you'll feel better.

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 18/01/2007 22:10

Don't worry - there is plenty of pladding to protect baby - next time get some bugger to move and give you a seat esp if you feel faint.

franke · 18/01/2007 22:12

Awww - don't worry Moorhen - baby is tiny and your tummy is huge (by comparison) - there's plenty to protect baby, s/he'll be fine

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 18/01/2007 22:15

padding not pladding!

Oh I so feel for you. When I was at your stage with my first child I used to take the train from Winchester to Waaterloo and it was bloody horrific. I often had to sit on the floor. I was soooooo tired and I just wanted a seat. Soooooooooooooooo tired. It was miserable. I look back now and I think I should get a medal. I couldn't / wouldn't do it again.

Moorhen · 18/01/2007 22:42

Thanks everyone, feeling better now. I think when I've got a proper bump I'll be braver about asking for seats!

Oh, just take the bloomin seat. If a man looks at you funny, ask him if he's pregnant.

Also, I've heard that they will give pregnant women a first class seat if there are no ithers available. Worth checking into...

welshmum · 19/01/2007 14:32

(hi uwila)
I would sit in first class, without asking and I'd shout and cry if they asked me to move

satine · 19/01/2007 14:35

Absolutely sit in first class. Take a doctor's pregnancy certificate if nec, to prove it. Many blokes are very frightened of pregnant women (they might burst into tears/go mental/have their waters go there and then) and will do anything to get away from you with the least fuss.
