Travel Insurance when pregnant?!

Hi,
Sorry if this isn't the right place for this question but thought I may find a few people who have already had to sort themselves travel insurance!

I'm off to the USA end of July and we've found out I'm pregnant with twins, I'll be 19+5 when we go and 22+3 when we land back.

My current insurance policy covers me if something happens due to trauma but doesn't cover me if I naturally go into labour.

has anyone found a policy that covers them? If so can you please share and also is it super expensive?

I went travelling when pregnant with dc1 and I phoned the travel insurance and they said I didn't need specific travel insurance due to how fae gone i was (20weeks). Ironically all 4 countries we vusited are now off limits due to zika! I went to florida when 26 weeks with dc2 and was given same advice.

I went to USA at 24 weeks (only one though) and got insurance through money saving expert. I went through pre existing conditions and it waived pregnancy with no complications so I didn't do anything different. Do twins count as a complication though?

Most policies will cover you up until around 28/30 weeks as birth before then is considered a complication rather than normal outcome. If your babies are born after that (by which time you'll be back in the UK) it's considered a normal possible outcome and so generally not covered.

What you need to look out for is whether the new babies would be automatically covered under your policy should they be born early and need care etc.

The company a PP linked to definitely does, it's their bread and butter policy.

Check your PDS, just search for pregnancy and you'll see all the relevant clauses.
