We have just got dates when we will have DHs son during the summer holiday. We know we wont be going anywehere exocti as baby will be too tiny but wondered about Centre Parcs.
Would visit a localish one - only abotu an hours drive
lots for DH and DHs son to do eg. sailing, cycling
Me and baby can do as much/little wandering as we like

So how realistic is it to consider takign an 11ish week old baby to Centre Parks for 4 nights?? Any issues i should be worried about or consider?

I think you would be fine

Will this be your first baby? Then you'll be doing well to go on holiday after just 11 weeks, but it is do - able.

We took dd on a cottage holiday in the Western Isles when she was 12 weeks old which involved a LONG car & ferry journey. I've never been to a center parc but I'd have thought you'll be fine.

We went away on holiay to a hotel in Cornwall when DS2 was 9 weeks old-I flew down with him andDH drove down with DS1 (I didn't want to risk having a crying baby in the car for 5 hours!)
It was a great holiday, DS2 started sleeping through the night that week and it couldn't have been better, just what we all needed. Normally I'm a person that gets really stressed but it all went well.

do it! the youger they are the more portable they are, esp if you are bf. we took both ours on holidays to spain when they were each around 9-10 wks. (not twins btw, 14mths age difference!)
at that age, they sleep most of the time, it's when they are about a year old and more mobile and demanding that they become more troublesome!!
go on hols and enjoy!!!

I took DS to Centreparcs at Longleat when he was 12 weeks old last July. It was great. Obviously it's tiring, but then it's tiring to be at home with them too so that makes no difference.

They had a good cot (take bedding with you) which fitted into the double bedroom well, i took steriliser, pushchair, bouncy chair etc oh and I took the baby listener thingy so we could sit outside and still hear him.

It's actually much much easier to take them at that age than it is a bit older because they aren't needing food 3 times a day, just bfeed out or if like me you end up on bottoles by then take those out with you, every cafe has bottle warming facilities etc.

It's great, the baby will sleep wherever you are so you can wander round the woods, sit at a cafe etc and enjoy some quiet time. Have fun!

Took DS2 when he was three weeks old.
It was fine, and DS1 enjoyed the children's activities.

GO GO Go, yes you have to pack the world to take with you, but you will enjoy the break. A 3mth old baby will be no problems, they are far more portable than an older child IMO.

We took our first DS skiing for a week when he was 11weeks old. Dh and I took it in turns to ski and my parents came along too so they were really helpful. It made no odds to him, he didn't know any different, and he looked very cute in all his warm snow stuff.

I went to Centreparcs when dd was about that age. The facilities there are really good. You will have to walk around the park though, cause they are still too small at age to go into one of those tag-along bicycle carts. There are family changing rooms, playpens and nappy change facilities around the pool, a creche if you want an afternoon on your own and you can hire a baby carrier if you don't own one as well. We had a brilliant time there and she enjoyed the water too. I had one of those floating baby seat for in the pool. Like everyone said: GO GO GO!!

Do it1

You will be able to sit and read and relax while baby is sleeping and DH can go off and do stuff with ds.

It is great and it is tiring but is ver do-able.

wheresthehamster · 14/01/2007 12:53

They are very baby/child orientated. All the restaurants are very welcoming. Lovely walks for you and baby.

Have a great time!
