Suspected antibodies in blood - what does this mean?

I'm 14 wks Sunday and had my first antenatal visit and bloods on Monday. Hospital called today and said they needed more blood from me and some from dh, too, as they'd found antibodies in my blood and needed to find out exactly which ones.
She said not necessarily serious and asked if I was rhesus neg (which I am, and had told them at the appt - do these people EVER listen to a word you say?).
Anyway, I know rh neg women can develop antibodies, and I've already had a shot of anti-D after bleeding in wk 6 (bled again wk 8, could this be the problem?). But I'm a bit scared in case something serious is wrong.
Anyone had similar experiences?

Sorry, cant offer any advice but hopefully someone will come along soon to help. I think Mears is a midwife, she may be able to help.

I had anti kell antibodies from a transfusion. The deal was, if my husband had (excuse wrongness of technical terms) kell 'bodies', it would be bad for the baby because my antibodies would reject her kell, meaning she could be born very anaemic. But this wasn't considered too much of an obstacle, not panic stations, just she'd need monitoring all the way. Anyway, my husband didn't have the kell, so it was considered not a problem of any kind, would have no effect whatever on the pregnancy. I don't know how it works for your antibodies, I know there are complications with rhesus neg, but I know that it's not uncommon. Talk to your obstetrician when you have your results, I'm sure many women have had safe pregnancies in this scenario. Good luck, we were very nervous waiting for my husband's kell test results. I hope you get the best news.

Thanks both of you.
Should maybe mention also that had termination ten years ago, and did not have anti-D then (wasn't offered it, maybe it wasn't routine) so don't know if this creates antibodies.
Urgh. Already had two emergency scans, got my Nuchal scan tomorrow - was kinda hoping I could relax and breathe for a bit...
