Can't begin to explain how angry I am. So over the course of the last four days I have been in/out of A&E and the emergency gynae ward.. They first took my bloods on the Wednesday told me my levels were fine.. I had pains so I went back again, re tested my levels done a check inside (where the put the clamp thing in) and told me everything was fine.. I started having some bleeding, they told me my levels had dropped a little bit but I should not worry and that I should be fine. I woke up this morning with severe pain and bleeding... I went to A&E where they referred me back to the emergency gynae ward... 3 hours I was waiting for the doctor to tell me to prepare for a miscarriage, she then proceeding to tell me that from the first set of bloods they basically knew I was going to miscarry. .. She 'looked inside agajn' and said to the nurse 'pass me the fourceps' I asked what was going on she said in a blunt tone 'wait I will explain in a minute' she told me she could see the sac and was going to pull it out.. That was it miscarriage over... I am so angry they knew this was happening yet gave me false hope.. She also left me sitting on the bed with no trousers on, for Ten minutes and left the room... I can't even process what's happened because I'm so angry :(

That's awful. I know what you mean, they told me nothing I sneaked a peak at my own notes.
They don't seem to understand the pain we feel and the loss we feel we are a number to them.
4 weeks after miscarriage I'm finally getting a scan as my hormone levels are still up. They have been awful. All we want is an acknowledgement that they have been nothing but a holes to us.
I'm so. Sorry for your loss xx

Kirstyvictoria12 hope you feel better soon. Ppl seem to exact you to feel better quickly as to others it wasn't yet a "baby" but that's not true x

Kirstyvictoria12 · 05/05/2016 20:02

Yeah, to us, it was and it was ours and our future. Angers me when they say well least you miscarried early.. Don't matter when you do a loss is a loss. How are you coping x

So, after a month since I miscarried I still have high hormones they are dropping but still hanging around,

Had a scan finally last week they can't see any leftovers.. But today iv had cramps and bleeding.. Rung hospital and they said to do a test if it's negative it's a period.. If its positive they don't know.... Positive! Absolutely baffled.

Anyone experienced anything like this?

You've really been through the mill Kirsty I wish I could give you some advice but I can only offer my support. I can't understand how people can be so cold when someone is going through a traumatic experience like you.

Kirstyvictoria12 · 12/05/2016 22:06

Thank you!
I'm just so baffled! And confused I just want this done so me and my partner can move on from this but atm we can't x

When a woman miscarries the HCG hormone should return to non pregnant levels (think it's something like 5 or below when not pregnant.

HCG is hormone that gives a positive pregnancy result on pregnancy tests, and rapidly increases as the pregnancy progresses and the fetus develops.

If either a pregnancy test shows positive, or HCG levels are double and there's no fetus on the ultra sound it can be a couple of rare medical conditions causing it.

Can you confirm that you've had an ultrasound that doesn't show a developing fetus, and that you've also had a HCG blood test that is in double figures/or had a positive pregnancy test.

If so, it could be pregnancy of unknown location, or a molar pregnancy. You'll need to have treatment call methotrexate to destroy the remaining pregnancy cells and return your HCG levels to normal.

If you live in the south charring cross in London is a specialist centre, in the north it's Sheffield Weston park hospital.

passthewineplz · 12/05/2016 22:27

Also. If your HCG blood test showed your level to be in the 100's a couple of weeks ago - they should have taken another test a week later to check they've dropped to non pregnant levels.

Kirstyvictoria12 · 12/05/2016 22:35

Yeah the levels are dropping last Saturday they dropped to 86. I have had an internal scan they can't see anything left over. They haven't dropped to non pregnant yet bit they are declining the expect them to be negative by next week but now i feel like I'm having a period but I can't because the levels ain't low enough to have one.
The sac was removed so no pregnancy elsewhere plus all scan was clear.
The test has been positive throughout they have checked my hormones regularly and they are declining x

Ok, it might be that your HCG levels are just taking a while to get back to normal on their own.

The hospital is doing the right thing by monitoring your HCG to ensure they're going to a non pregnant level. They should however shown you more compassion and explained things to you better.

The bleeding you're experiencing is probably your bodies way of getting rid of what's left - then hopefully the HCG levels will return back to normal.

If your bleeding becomes heavy, or you have severe shoulder pain - get yourself to a&e ASAP!

Kirstyvictoria12 · 12/05/2016 23:26

Yeah, they but baffled why they've taken so long as it was an early m/c but everyone is different.
It's not much bleeding atm, it's just the low down cramp, I get bad periods and I just feel like I'm getting one of them, I'm going back to the hospital tomorrow.

Been going on so long now just want it all to be back to normal so we can move forward

Sometimes it can take a while for HCG levels to go back to normal, the blood loss is more likely your bodies way of getting rid of everything from your uterus helping the levels return to a non pregnant state.

I know it's frustrating, however it's a good thing they're continuing to drop without you needing any further treatment.

Hopefully when they check your HCG levels again tomorrow they've dropped, and you can start to move on.

If the levels remain the same, you'll prob need some treatment to get them back to non pregnant levels.

If the doctors are still scratching their heads, tell them to contact Charing Cross or Sheffield western park x
