So I'm approx 4 weeks and 5 days pregnant with my first. Found out at 3 weeks 6 days and although it's been an amazing few days talking about it with DH and planning ahead, I now feel like I'm staring into a very long void until we get to a 12 week scan or a point we can talk to family and friends about it.

Anyone else in the same position? I'm worried there's only so much talk my DH can out up with before I drive him mental! He's naturally very cautious but my hormones are currently in overdrive making me obsessed with this minuscule poppy seed growing inside me!

Dev, you literally could be describing me lol. I tested at 3+6 as my DH was going away for 4 days and I didn't want to test while he was gone. So we literally saw the BFP together and then I was on my own just like "what just happened?!"

I'm now 5+2 which has felt like an age! But now that I've spoken to the midwife, I feel like I might actually cope til 8 weeks! I wish you loads of luck! It feels so bizarre doesn't it? Were you trying long?

Jamjar how funny, that's exactly what happened yesterday!
Unbelievably, following a year of appointments to finally be diagnosed with PCOS then 6 months of metformin, we finally decided to start trying this cycle. I got a positive Opk 2 weeks ago and now here I am!!! I just can't believe it really, I always anticipated it being a long journey given everything. In hindsight I'm sure it's because of the preparation that was put in place that made it happen so quickly! How about you?

With DS I had IVF so you kind of know you're pregnant before you can test IYSWIM. You know you have an embryo inside and have to see if it will stay. And you test on the first possible day. So the first tri felt very very long!

I got two early scans at fertility clinic which helped.

With DD I had a surprise natural conception. With the PCOS my cycles were long and irregular so I didn't think anything of a late period. I didn't test til I was 6 weeks so things flew by!

Aww, I'm so glad it happened that quickly! There are lots of people worrying about PCOS on the thread I was on before so I'm so glad it didn't seem to hold you back! We started trying in November so it worked on our 4th cycle. Felt like an age at the time too but looking back, it really wasn't lol. I think I'm just very excitable and keep planning ahead so it feels like time moves so slowly :)

How did your DH react?

I found out about four weeks, I'm now 11!

It's taken forever but my first scan is in sight!

Devgal · 26/03/2016 08:27

Yeah it's pretty reassuring I think for others with PCOS! Ah I can imagine it felt like forever, but really pleased for you that it's all worked out. He's very practical, and I have been saying for the last 2 weeks to him that I'm sure I was so he wasn't massively surprised but still really happy. Just wish he wasn't away now! But I'm sure he will go into practical mode as soon as he is back!! Have you got any appointment or scan dates yet? Did you have to go to your GP or make a self referral?

A few years ago I got a BFT at 3+2 was totally shocked to get it so early but it saved my life. At 4+2 I woke up feeling rough, felt like heart burn and indigestion, by lunch time got excruciating pain in my right shoulder and because I knew I was pregnant I immediately realised it was ruptured ectopic. Long story short ended up in emergency surgery, had a Fallopian tube removed along with almost a litre of blood from my pelvis from internal bleeding!

I didn't find out till about six and a half weeks and it still felt like forever! You have my sympathies! My problem was keeping DH calm. He got monumentally excited andnwanted to skip off and tell everyone, start buying stuff, start picking names. Hsd to beg him to wind himself down till we got past the scan safely. It's a trying time!

Fantastic afresh! Hope your scan goes well and you get to see your little bean on screen!

I phoned the doctor and they were useless, told me the wrong info. Luckily, the ladies on here pointed me right and I self referred to the midwife. Have my first app on 15th April, eek!

Gosh ooh, that sounds awful! Thank god you knew what was happening!!!

Gash, DH is much more sensible than I am, thank goodness. He's gone on a decorating rampage though to get the house ready before its done. He just tried to give me a mask to wear whilst I'm watching tv as he's currently sanding down our hallway. I've told him the door being closed between us is enough but he's being very overprotective bless him!!
