bHCG levels seem high - should I be worried?

I'm pregnant for the third time in 7 months following 2 early mcs. I am very, very anxious.

I had my HCG levels checked at the GP and the results seem quite high going by the ranges on the Internet I know i should step away

4 weeks 2 days: 2157
4 weeks 5 days: 8600

I didn't actually get to speak to a doctor when I got the results; the receptionist just read out the numbers and said the doctor who reviewed them (not my own GP) had said 'as expected'.

Does anyone have any experience of this? I'm obviously glad they've doubled, but now fretting about something untoward going on.

I was more worried about ectopic or molar, all those scary things on Google.

I'm sure if the dr is worried he'll send you for an early scan to rule it out. If you're worried call and ask to speak to a go about the results. Did the gp not suggest an early scan anyway due to your history?

I'm booked for an early scan at 10 weeks, because I'm abroad from weeks 6-9 (also anxious about that ). Just worried cause the range for 4 weeks seems to be in the region of 5 - 426. I know every woman and every pregnancy is different, but mine are so far in excess of that, it's just giving me something else to fret about.

I might try phone to speak to a doctor tomorrow.

You could try to get one just before you go - at least rule out ectopic. A pregnancy sac should be seen from 5 ish weeks. I know the worry (recurrent misacrrier), try not to google stuff. And don't be afraid to harass the Drs if need be. Good luck

I know it's hard not to worry, especially with your history, but it's really positive that the hcg is rising quickly. It's far more of a bad sign of there is little increase.

Are you absolutely sure of your dates? Regular 28-day cycle? An ectopic wouldn't cause a higher-than-expected HCG. Molar pregnancy is a possibility, but is much less likely than a multiple pregnancy (!) or you being a few days further on than you thought. I'm sure everything will be fine, fingers crossed for you

Yep definitely sure of dates, LMP began on 3 Feb. I have 28 day cycles, like clockwork - apart from one slightly longer 30 day one after my ERPC. I'm fairly certain I ovulated around 17/18 Feb and got BFP on 26 Feb so about 8/9dpo.

I had a very similar experience last year - I can't remember the exact figures but they were in the low thousands at around 4 1/2 weeks. Had a bit of a panic about how high the numbers were and how quickly they were rising and then found some actual research papers that showed the levels I had were within the normal range for a singleton pregnancy. Try not to worry about it from my experience it is a good sign to have such robust hcg results.

Are you really suffering with morning sickness?
I had hyperemesis and my readings were ridiculously high but no one .ever really seemed concerned they just put it down to the hyperemesis.

do you feel alright bar usual early pregnancy symptons? I had a molar pregnancy and I can tell you I was soo ill, I could barely walk. Really dizzy/foggy brain and constantly had really bad nausea. Like morning sickness x 10000. Also light bleeding. All signs of a molar pregnancy.

I feel extremely and severely nauseous quite a lot of the day and night, but haven't been sick (yet). I didn't feel like this in my 2 mc pregnancies - but I suppose that might be because the hcg levels were low. I've had no spotting or cramping or anything like that.

I felt absolutely appalling with mine and had a very early BFP (I knew I was pregnant within a week of conceiving). AFAIK molar pregnancies typically involve HCG levels that are properly through the roof (in the hundreds of thousands). Ectopic pregnancies typically involve slower than normal increases in HCG.

I was pregnant very quickly after a miscarriage so I think I had a bit of a head start with the new pregnancy, if that makes sense. As I said I worried (obsessed) about the HCG results but ended up deciding that they were nothing to worry about, quite the opposite in fact.
