Matenity bras? My boobs are killing me

I'm nine weeks and I think my boobs are going to explode. Is it worth buying specialist maternity bras at this point?

I had to get new bras at 16w. Couldn't cope any longer. I just got resized and bought ones without underwiring. Nothing specialist.

I bought non wired ones at about 9 weeks, don't spend much though because if you are anything like me you will need new bras every few weeks ... 30+5 here and on 3rd set of bigger bras already and they are getting tight! Ive had people recommend the stretchy ones (I think asda do them) sadly they don't fit me but I would have given them a go had they of fitted. I was told by a bra fitter in John Lewis to only buy nursing bras (if you're planning on BF) right before you are due and they recommend getting them in a bigger size, although I think I will hold off and buy them once baby is here as knowing my luck I will invest in nursing bras and then my boobs will go on another growth spurt and they probably won't fit

You don't need non-wired bras, any well fitting bra will do. I have some really good ones from Debenhams that are completely smooth inside because anything at all inside the cups makes me want to rip my bra off by 10am.

I think if you go non wired you may as well get maternity style so they come on useful after birth. Bear in mind they make your boobs look crap though! This time I've just bought bigger underwired ones and it's helped me feel a bit better about how my body looks after feeling huge and frumpy on my first pregnancy.

Sports bras grow with you a little more in my experience .My breasts seems to move less which helped with the discomfort also if you gain weight back extenders are a good buy and cheap too

Second the asda bras! Honestly I went through loads of different non wired (stayed on well fitting wires until the lectures got annoying!) they are really comfy and wash well. They aren't the prettiest though and do remind me of a sports bras

I had to buy new bras at 7 weeks. I just bought one nude and one black as you don't know how much bigger you will get at this stage. At 33 weeks now and I have needed extenders but not bigger bras. Your rib cage will later widen so you need to fit new bras now on the tightest swtting, this is the opposite to a non pregnant lady.

The other thing to try if you're thinking about bf is a Bravado bodysilk seamless nursing bra. Expensive, but mine have lasted my whole pregnancy (now 39 weeks) are soooo comfy as they are stretchy but strong and the padded bit helps with keeping a nice shape. I know they work for bfing afterwards too as I got them just after my last baby was born. You buy them by dress size and I love them. They last well too (2 years of constant wear and counting...).

Are non-wired ones better? I've worn wired ones for years as I'm a substantial D cup. Wouldn't have thought that non-wired would give much support?

Wired bras are fine as long as they fit. A too small wired bra could damage your milk ducts.

I went up 6 cup sizes. I just kept buying cheap bras from Amazon every time I went up two sizes. 39 weeks and I haven't gone to non-wired, I am so big I need the extra support!

I was in maternity bras really quick my boobs were so bloody painful and HUGE
John lewis do some good ones which have seen me though

My boobs changed size throughout pregnancy and after the birth.
I definitely wouldn't buy any feeding bras before the baby arrives - as if I'd have done that, even at 38 weeks onwards, they wouldn't have fit me.
I have larger boobs and bought some normal underwired bras in my new size as the pregnancy went on. Underwired is fine as long as they fit well. I went to bravissimo for mine, as I love that shop.
To sleep in and in the final weeks, I brought some cheap soft bras from asda for about £6 each. These were great until baby arrived and then I waited a few weeks until my boobs had settled to get some really nice feeding bras.

I'm just over 6 weeks and my bras had started feeling really restrictive. I've only bought one new one as my sister has offered me a selection that don't fit her any more and should be perfect for me.

I'm going to try to make do with only a couple of cheaper ones each time my size changes and save buying maternity ones until after the birth.
