any recommendations for baby bouncers?

Am about to invest in a baby bouncer but there seem to be loads to choose from and have no idea where to start.

Had one with DD1 (but borrowed it and haven't got it anymore). It didn't have a vibrating/rocker or anything and am wondering if these are any good?

Anyone recommend one?

Thanks

I had one with a vibration thing on and dd really liked that, ecpecially when she was new born. By the time she was a few months old she was quite happy to sit in there without the vibration thing and just play with a toy.

We had a bog standard basic one from mothercare - cost about 12 quid and both of mine loved the thing! All it did was bounce.

Just read my post and realised that wasn't a very good receomedation. Am basically saying I think ones with the vibration are a good idea

i had a mamas and papas one that i bought when pregnant it waas barnaby bear melino i think, it was a really bad decision, it didnt recline so no use when she was tiny and so only lasted from 3-4 months not the birth - 6 months as it said on box as at 4 months she was arching her back to get out of it, cost me £40 or so, should have just bought basic one, without music function etc, just given her musical toy to hold!

We had a mothercare one it was a red check design and changed from sitting upright, to reclining to lying flat. DS loved it so much that he wouldn't sleep in anything else for the first 2-3 months. It lasted from birth to about 7-8 months ish.

When we have another (fingers crossed) I will buy another one of these no doubt.

we were bought a mamas and papas one but DS was only 4lb 12 when born and is only 10lb now at 10 weeks he can only tolerate it for 5 mins at a time as it is too rigid and upright but i think it will be better when he gets older/bigger as there are 3 sound setting 2 types of vibration and they can be altered in volume and frequency respectively.

Someone else gave us their childs fisher price linkadoos one which just has one simple vibrate setting. It is a total godsend. It has helped immensley with colic, it's cradling and supportive, he goes from screaming to asleep in less than 10 mins and loves it. He also plays in it but we swap the three crap toys that came with it and that he can't reach for things like the Whoozit where there is lots to entertain and stimulate him.

We had a cheap one from Argos. It does the trick and DS loves it. To be honest, he is only 3 months and nearly too big for it so ther is no point buying an expensive one!!

the fidher price linkadoos rocker cos it lasts til they are a toddler as opposed to 6 months.
