transverse lie

Hi ive been to the midwife today (28 week check) and she said my little one was transverse lie, im just wanting any advice or to hear if anyone else had this and if there baby eventually turned if not how there labour went? ive had myself in a panic all day since i found out

Please don't worry. Your baby has plenty of time to turn! My daughter was transverse until quite late on in pregnancy but still turned in time! I had complications in labour but none of which were down to her position. Hope this gives you some peace of mind!

My baby turned at 30 weeks and is now engaged at 40 weeks so I agree not to worry but the spinning babies website is recommended on here if you want to help it.

I'm 31+4 with twins and at 28 wk scan one of mine was transverse but luckily has turned since and are both head down, been told they can still move positions for a few weeks and with singletons they can still do somersaults right up to the last days! Good luck x

I don't think they start to worry about it till 36\37 weeks so you have plenty of time but I found the NCT helpline helpful about this is you'd like to speak to someone and get some reassurance. I found the spinning babies website a bit complicated but the NCT website has some good info about baby position and things you can do to encourage a good position, I am finding sitting on birth ball or on a backwards dining chair or laying on the floor the easiest.

Hi, my baby was transverse until 34 weeks and turned all on their own.

I have an unstable lie - transverse/oblique/breech whatever mood my little one takes and I am 36 weeks. I saw the consultant today who was very unphased, however, if my waters break I have to get to hospital quick and get on all 4's with my bottom in the air to try and prevent cord prolapse. Also if I have any signs of labour I am to go straight in. Other than that I have c section booked for 39 weeks. I cannot have an EVC as the baby is an unstable lie and will just flip back and I am not allowed to be induced for the same reason plus a previous c section.
Don't worry at 28 weeks its not unusual to be transverse and most babies generally get it right in the end (just not mine yet - although my first didn't want to go into a good position either so maybe my babies find it hard due to my pelvic anatomy).
