Would you recommend the nappy bag you use? Is it incredibly awesome?! Tell me all about it. And the price too :)

Looking into this myself and am impressed by the video of babymule change backpack on amazon!

PurplePotatoes · 14/02/2016 18:45

I've also got a Babymel one and would definitely recommend it for all the reasons a pp said. Lots of pockets, an insulated bottle compartment, travel change mat and the Velcro straps for the buggy are brilliant.
It was about 55 quid. My DD is also 2 and I'm pregnant again and fancy a new one but can't justify it as it's still like new!

I can't seem to post a link but it's the Babymel Amanda in black.

I have had 6 (count em!) change bagsBlush;

A BabaBing one- this was designated dp's bag as it was brown and not too girly. Hardly used but second hand so not expensive.
A plain cotton rucksack- rubbish as everything was loose in it and it wasn't waterproof.
A Pacapod. I was determined to be more organised and thought it would helpHmm. It's massive but has little room in it- don't ask me how.
A Quinny Bag. It attaches to the buggy and was really useful but we have a double buggy now.
A Babymel one. Bought it when we had dd as I was convinced it would be perfect. It isn't. I blame the hormones.
A small Jeep rucksack- By far the best one. Not an actual change bag but something like this;

It's not huge so i also have two zip lock bags with a change of clothes for each baby that I put on in buggy basket.

I have a pacapod mirona changing bag my MIL got me from John Lewis I believe, with my 5 month old and hopefully be able to use it with baby number 2 in August.

messyjessy7 · 22/02/2016 04:05

I love my babymel, wipes well and plenty of pockets. Great for days out. If we're just nipping to the supermarket I just use a backpack though for ease as it's smaller.

I love my Pacapod. My needs might be slightly different with twins, but my husband can take one baby and the changing pod off to the loo while I have the feeding pod with the other baby. We can also just take the pods and leave the rest of the bag at home. It has forced me to be organised and is probably the only bag I've ever had that hasn't ended up with weeks' worth of detritus floating around at the bottom of it.

Gooseysgirl · 22/02/2016 05:38

The Boots bag was great but didn't go the distance for me, fell apart eventually. We have had a Bababing for 3 years and still like new, DH loves it! However mine are 4 and 2 now so I usually just throw a fold up change mat (Sunshine kids one has been fantastic) in my handbag for shorter outings.

iusedtobecool · 22/02/2016 05:48

www.amazon.co.uk/5pcs-Baby-Nappy-BLACK-Changing/dp/B00CA2FIXK/ref=zg_bs_60244031_2 Cheap and cheerful, still going strong with baby no.2. Use the big bag for overnight stays and the little one for everyday use.

More expensive option, I found the paca pod very handy too.

Redhead79 · 22/02/2016 12:59

dabchick we have the babymule and I love it! So many pockets and v roomy. DH uses it backpack style while I tend to use it over my shoulder or on the pram. I've also used the litte bag in a normal handbag.
The only downside is the changing mat is quite small but as I have another roll up one this isn't an issue for me.

dabchick88 · 22/02/2016 13:55

Thanks Redhead glad you like the babymule, I think we will defo get one, its currently on my amazon wishlist :)

superherostrawberry · 22/02/2016 14:11

Storksak. Yes they're £££ but mine is currently on it's FIFTH YEAR!

Sorebigtoes · 22/02/2016 19:29

I love my jujube bff (stupid name, great bag). Washes well, can be cross body or backpack style (the straps all clip off and on, nice changing mat and lots of pockets. You can get extra pod type sections to go in it, though I didn't bother. Softer than some of the oilskin bags, so it doesn't feel quite as bulky.

kamillaw · 22/02/2016 19:47

I have a Bebe one or something from tkmax. Pram hooks and washable. It's brilliant, also have a Lowe alpine rucksack which is brilliant, I had so many changing bags but this combo has been the best by far!

@CurlsLDN how do you get the Boots bag I've looked everywhere??

PBobs · 17/02/2019 02:50

I've bought a changing mat, a waterproof pouch for clean stuff and a wet bag/stuff bag for wet and dirty items. Then will just use a regular oil skin/ waterproof/ lightweight leather rucksack. Oh and 2 airtight clipped Tupperwares for reusable wet wipes. One for face and one for bum.

Daffodil77 · 17/02/2019 05:52

I have the pacapod Hasting. It was a gift which I didn't chose. Having said that, overall I like it and am happy with it so far. It's a neutral navy stripe so dh doesn't mind wearing it. At the moment I'm ebf and only 7 weeks in so don't need the feeding pouch. I can fit the changing pouch, my big purse, a change of clothes, a few muslins and my water bottle in it. I like that I can take just the changing pouch to the toilet. You can also put this in the basket separately if you need a lot more space in the bag. I like the changing pouch as everything has its own pocket so it all stays put and is easy to find.

The backpack conversion is good. You can have it as a shoulder strap as well but the backpack works much better for me. It's really handy if you're using a carrier.

If I could change anything, it'd be a few more pockets on the outside or a zip on the front one. I'd also like the hanging clips to be velcro. You need to be able to take the buggy handle bar off to put the loops on. Once on, you can just leave them and clip the bag on as and when you need to. This is probably more secure than velcro but I can't take my handle bar off rendering this feature useless currently.

cinnabunbun · 19/03/2019 14:50

My top top is the sturdy reusable Ikea ziplock bags. One for a complete outfit change, one for a couple of nappies, sacks and wipes. One for snacks. Then just bung in any nice rucksack
