I have just found out that i am pregnant with my first baby :) probably about 4/5 weeks. I am excited, but terrified of EVERYTHING! Every time i feel anything in my stomach i don't know if it is right or not. I have been to see my gp they have refered me to the midwife (he wasn't much more help than that!) . Has anyone any advice for me? I feel useless already 😯

Unfortunately I had a miscarriage on Monday Sad So gutted and I am now wondering if I will ever have a baby... The doctors keep pushing us to have IVF and a donor egg but don't want that and besides no money!
So just a bit depressed but my husband and I have decided to try again straightaway so hopefully we will be pregnant again soon. Hope you are all well and loads of baby dust xxx

Relax, enjoy it, you'll miss it when it's over (mum of 4 week old boy) :)

First of all congratulations!

I'm in a similar boat, 5 wks pg, NHS website calculator estimates due 20th Oct. The receptionist at my GP was lovely on the phone and wished me congrats. She advised me I didn't need a GP appt, but to fill in a referral form for the midwife team which I did on the Monday. By Friday I couldn't contain myself and rang the midwives to check if they'd received the referral. They hadn't, but took a self referral over the phone. It was a great opportunity to feel like I'd talked to a proper professional about things, and ask any initial questions. I am so glad I phoned the midwife team myself, much more reassuring than the GP surgery.

So now it's just waiting for them to contact me, I'll be offered a booking appt at 10 weeks and a scan at 12 weeks. I am terrified about mc, especially as I'm an older first timer, but nothing I can do except avoid the obvious risks. I actually feel brilliant, very happy and healthy, but probably sickness etc will kick in soon.

Wishing you all the best.
