Maternity Bras... will a sports bra do instead?

Do I really need to buy a maternity bra or will a sport bra (non-wired) do? I'm currently a 36B at 13 weeks....

You don't need to buy a maternity bra. I only bought bras for breastfeeding just before I had the baby. If you are comfortable there's no need to buy anything else.

agree with juuule. I never wore them. Found nursing bras a must but I just avoided underwire when pregnant. Sports bra would be fine.

Sports bras a great. I think they hold me in place better than a regular bra.

I bought maternity bras, but ended up with a sports one as it offered more support. Much better IMO.

I just wear sports bras not maternity bras - they are very comfortable.

I got one from M & S, cant remember the make... ill have a look when I go into my room.

I got some nice maternity bras - sports bra style - by Miriam Stoppard @ Debenhams. They are ten pounds each and come in black or white. Very comfortable.

I am right in saying we can't wear underwire?

Shock Absorber are the best sports bras. Great instead of maternity bras, as they give maximum support - designed for when you're playing tennis!

Pregnant women are usually advised against wearing underwired bras as there is a risk that the wire can dig into your breast tissue and damage milk ducts, but it's OK as long as the bra fits absolutely perfectly and the underwire is always under (not on) the breast.
