I'm 39+2 with DC2. I've not been pregnant for this long before as DS arrived 2wks early. Looking back it was bliss as it took me completely by surprise as it was done and dusted by now!

Every twinge I'm now like Shock is this it?? I've been like this for 3 wks now as was naively thinking this one would be here by now Confused

I've been off work for agggeesss as, again, thought better to be safe than sorry!! Hmm

I can't do much anymore as so sore so pretty bored!

Anyone else in the same boat - clock watching and analysing every twinge?? Keep me company!

Also what are you looking forward to the most after the baby arrives?? (apart from the actual baby!Grin) I'm looking forward to:

  1. The food I've missed - runny eggs, medium rare steak, pate
  2. Clothes that fit!
  3. Not waking 4+ times a night for the loo and everytime I need to turn over!
  4. Lying on my front
  5. No longer sounding 100 years old everytime I get up/sit down
  6. Prosecco!!
  7. Not having DP look at me every time in a panic when I groan in case it's labour kicking off
  8. The feeling of the relief when it's all over, the baby is here safely and my family is complete and I don't have to do it ever again! (this is what I'm most excited about - gazing into newborns eyes knowing it was all worth it. Sigh)

Not worrying about movements / pains / aches / nausea etc.
G&Ts,
Champagne,
Sashimi / sushi,
Lack of other peoples looks in the gym / restaurants (when I am eating COOKED sushi and non-alcoholic cocktails),
Being 6wks post partum and back to normal (exercise, movement etc.)
My husband babysitting while I go out with my friends!!!
Being on ML...

Actually more excited than I was with DS1 as it feels less of an unknown...

HJBeans · 07/02/2016 11:29

37+3 here.
Getting him here safely and it no longer being solely my responsibility to look after him.
Lying down whatever damn way I want.
A nice pint of ale, in a pub, with no children to care for in any way.

Issie339 · 07/02/2016 15:11

I'm 34 wks. Looking forward to mat leave firstly as work and the LONG commute on public transport is getting harder every day- just 2 more weeks to go!! Then:

  1. not having permanent back and rib pain
  2. being able to buy normal clothes again and actually looking nice in them
  3. having my energy back!
  4. meeting baby (obviously!) and seeing DD with him for the first time
  5. being in that newborn baby 'bubble' where everything else seems irrelevant and like it's all just floated away Grin
AmyLouKin · 07/02/2016 17:16

38 weeks and looking forward to;
Being able to get up if I kneel or crouch down, without the aid of furniture or my OH.
Less/no pain in my ribs and back!
Being able to eat a normal sized meal.
Not having to take iron tablets or movicol!
Being able to breathe properly.
Seeing baby for the first time.

Seriously worried about the lack of sleep as I'm a grumpy bugger without it!
Good luck ladies. 😊 May we all feel better soon.

Not long to go for everyone!

I've a midwife appt today so no doubt will find out about sweeps and induction.

YY to the newborn bubble! I LOVED that with DS. Was a lovely, special time where nothing else mattered and time stood still for a little while. Lots of visitors, eating and drinking the things you've missed and that rush of love and those heart swelling moments when you cuddle and kiss your newborn. Sigh. So excited!

35 weeks now, I can't wait for wine and pate and rare steak and I'm even missing being able to go for a run (!!)

But mostly it's the wine Smile

purplepineapples · 10/02/2016 09:07

I have a bottle of wine in my cereal cupboard (!) and everytime I open it I give it longing look... will be put in the fridge by DP when I'm in the hospital Grin

Im 37 weeks on Friday with my first. On the one hand I've weirdly become attached to my due date 4 March but I'm so ready for baby now. I've been off for nearly 2 weeks now and I'm coping fine just now. I'm all alone as both GPs work and my DH, not climbing the walls just yet lol

alliemarg · 10/02/2016 13:20

Restaurants: Not having to be picky about how things are cooked/are they pasteurized/will they remember to leave out the thing I can't eat/having to send things back when they forget what I've requested to be changed

My rapidly growing collection of mini Lanson bottles

Being able to pick up my toddler daughter for longer than a few seconds without feeling guilty about the pressure on my body

hazellnut56 · 10/02/2016 13:58

38 weeks tomorrow (although having a scan Friday as the bump measuring big!)
I sooo cannot wait to meet the little one firstly but also I miss:
1.Sleeping on my tummy
2.Being able to stand for more than 5 minutes without keeling over
3.Sleep! (Yeah ! Like I'm gonna get that back!)
4.Not having the "when you gotta go" feeling for both no1 and no2
5.Soft cheese (nommm!)

  1. Not snoring!!! my poor hubby has been forced into the spare room/sofa as he works hard but I've been keeping him awake... He also worries when I stop as he things I'm not breathing lol!

Congratulations on all your pregnancies, not long now ladies. !! Smile

Stuckerooni · 10/02/2016 16:18

Mines out at last! 1 day early. 31 hour labour but totally worth it for a cuddly new DS2 currently bf and can't wait to introduce him to DS1 in an hour or so! Xx

purplepineapples · 10/02/2016 16:25

Aawwww!!! Congratulations Stuck Flowers And well done!

Congratulations !!! Enjoy your new addition !! ThanksThanks

Littleoakhorn · 12/02/2016 09:11

Congratulations stuckerooni!

I'm 39 weeks and have gestational diabetes, so obviously I'm looking forward to falling face first into a trough of chocolates once baby is here. Other things:

  • Meeting my boy,
  • Sleeping on my front,
  • Not over analysing every twinge and braxton hicks,
  • Eating without having to think about it. I'm not missing anything in particular but I'm fed up with watching the carbs, avoiding rare meat, pate, blah blah blah,
  • Wearing proper clothes again,
  • Not feeling like a total grumpy kill joy every time someone spouts some nonsensical pregnancy myth at you like "oh you've got a neat bump because it's a boy" or "second babies are always early".
GoingLoopyQuickly · 12/02/2016 22:21

I am way off atm. But I distinctly remember looking forward to weeing properly after pg1. And I was right. The first wee after childbirth was one of the best feelings I have ever had. Who knew so much liquid could fit in my bladder and come out all at once. And the best bit was that I actually felt empty afterwards and didn't need to go a while.

Luckygirlcharlie · 12/02/2016 22:45

No more heartburn. No more (or fewer) trumps BlushGrin

purplepineapples · 13/02/2016 11:51

The first wee I had after DC1 was fantastic! I'd had an epidural and had a catheter in so they needed to check everything was functioning down there. It definitely was! I cannot believe how much was in there! Grin

My heartburn has ramped up in the past few weeks. Gaviscon is a life saver!

37 weeks today, felt like ive been pregnant forever until it started going so quickly after 35 weeks, now im startying to panic a little!

Most looking forward to:
Finally finding out if baby is a boy or girl as months of calling it 'it' is getting boring now!
Lying on my front, cant believe how many others have said this too
Not being over cautious with food
A massive board of cured meat, pate and all the cheeses
Introducing baby to our dog who has been our baby for 6 years
No work for the next while (started mat leave yesterday!)
Not caring what time or day it is, bring on the newborn bubble that i've heard so much about
Having an excuse not to do stuff for a while, our lives are filled with constantly visiting people and having to make plans all the time, it's going to be so nice to just have some us time
Wearing normal clothes again
NO MORE HEARTBURN!!
