You'd think I would know this but my memeory fails me.

I can still feel movements but not nearly as much as a week or so ago.

My over active imagination is scaring me......

wow, I can't believe you're 38 weeks already!! My midwife said this was normal and not to worry as long as you have 10 movements a day I think it was

Quootiepie · 24/12/2006 08:15

Hunny, I had the same, and ignored it... and when DS was born he had a knot in his cord, explaining the times he went "quiet". Next time, I will kick up a fuss and not be so "polite" and not say anything. I don't mean to scare you, but... if in doubt, ring MW {{hugs}}

Hiya

With each of my 4 pg's i went to labour ward in the last week or so to be monitered as i felt the baby wasn't moving as much

Each time all was fine.I think it was me being anxious but i would def phone your mw or labour suite and get it checked. There is no point in worrying over Christmas when half an hour on the moniter will put your mind at rest.Good luck!!

MrsJohnCuSackFullOfPresents · 24/12/2006 08:29

there's no harm in getting it checked if you think there's been a slow down

yes some people that they don't move as much as they run out of room at the end, but then equally they say that's a myth - if you are worried then go and get monitored for a bit to put your mind at rest. no harm done

I can't believe you only have 2 weeks to go either - I remember the thread when you'd found out! and now I'm only 7 weeks behind you. scary

MrsJohnCuSackFullOfPresents · 24/12/2006 08:30

some people say
I'm not sure I mad sense totally there... am sure you understand what I mean though

LadyTophamHatt · 24/12/2006 08:31

I'm sure I'm getting 10 movemnets a day. I'm easily getting that.

It's just not the 110 I was getting last week IYSWIM.

ah
I'm pretty sure they do slow down a bit as they get ready to arrive - they must totally run out of room by then

lollipopz · 24/12/2006 09:08

hiya, i think youll be ok, i've had this since about 38 weeks (now 40+1), got monitored last week and the wee thing went mad with the monitor on, felt quite but at least it reassured me, so it might be worth going in for a quick check to ease your mind so you can sit back and enjoy xmas

christmosschops30 · 24/12/2006 09:13

go and get it checked. Its quite normal cos the baby has less room, but theres no harm in putting your mind at rest hope all goes well

merrylissiemas · 24/12/2006 09:41

its perfectly normal knid of the calm before the storm. if youre worried tho get it checked out

lulumama · 24/12/2006 09:44

apparently, 10 movements a day, if that is normal for oyu is ok, but if you are used to a lot more, and baby suddenly goes quieter, then it should be checked.....think it was Binkacat who said that.....

baby can go quieter towards the end of pregnancy as coserving energy for labour....

but if you are worried, call the midwife..

LadyTophamHatt · 24/12/2006 11:15

Well, have to take Ds3 to the emergency Gps now so will mention it to him at the same time.

It never rains.....blah blah blah...

good luck, let us know how it goes

me23bottlesofsherry · 24/12/2006 11:23

hi this happened to me when I was 37 weeks pregnant. I went to the maternity unit to get it cheked out they montitered me then sent me home with a 'kick' chart to monitior the movements!

I went into labour the following week all was fine.

The movements do slow down as you get nearer the birth but its always worth getting it checked.

good luck x

Miaou · 24/12/2006 12:24

I remember ds slowed down a lot re. movements at this stage in pregnancy. However I didn't worry because he had hiccups at least half a dozen times a day

Hope all goes well LTH!

dueat44 · 24/12/2006 18:54

Get your GP to check the heartbeat. This happened to me, i thought it was the old 'no room left' theory but actually my placenta had failed.

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 24/12/2006 22:27

In my yellow book it clearly states that it is untrue that babies movements slow down before birth and if you have change/reduction in movements to get it checked out.
