We have our scan on Monday and we have held off buying anything until now (how i'm not sure) I'd really like to buy something for baby just to mark the day really (fingers crossed all being well obviously)

So I wondered what was the first thing you bought for baby?

A musical tiger that plays Born Free when you pull the string. I bought it when I was pregnant with dd1. She's 18 this year. We went on to have 3dc all now teens.

We've have had many clears out of stuff over the years as they grew up. But I couldn't part with the tiger. That and dt's little matching hats.

A pair of totally impractical knitted booties from a Spanish boutique a few days after finding out I was pg.

A cute baby grow at about 14 weeks. At 17 weeks I knitted a bunny and at 18 weeks starting knitting a blanket. I'm not going to do anything else until after the 20 week scan, which is this week. I will probably just buy one or two small things in the next month or so and get the big stuff until later on.

I'm waiting for our 20wk scan, but if everything's ok, I'm totally going to be stocking up on the Star Wars baby clothes from Mothercare!

Only 12 weeks, but already started buying books (Linley Dodd and Alan Albergh)! Parents had kept all my old ones in the attic and now I'm adding to them!

I have not got a clue. Possibly clothes, I gathered stuff form the bargain bin at the Salvation Army as and when I spotted it.

It is entirely possible that I'm not quite as sentimental about buying stuff for baby as most people!

A cuddly toy bunny, after the 20 week scan. It went into the hospital bag when DD was born, and still lives in her cot nearly two years later. She was named by one of the midwives on the post-natal ward (the bunny, not DD) Grin

I bought a jelly cat bunny and book of nursery rhymes when I was pregnant. I used to cuddle the bunny and read the rhymes to my bump.

Dd is 4 now and loves both!

A pack of 2 Snoopy baby gros Smile

A leather reclining chair and footstool for the nursery. Happy mummy = happy baby is still my mantra Grin

"Pat the Bunny" book at 25 weeks.

A little white hat with an embroidered bear on it. It was in the shop in the hospital I was working in. We were trying for a baby and I thought if I get a positive test the first thing I will do is go and buy that hat and I did Smile

thanks for everyone's replies! We bought a little swaddle and hat set with a baby grow. A mummy elephant and a baby elephant and a 2016 bear :)

20 week scan went really well. Feeling good. Looking forward to getting to the 24 week mark now
