Rant: How do some women make pregnancy look so easy!

Sorry for the rant but I'm having a harder time being pregnant than I thought, of course I'm still excited that I'm having a baby but there are things I wish I was warned about. Especially when my friends that are pregnant or had children seemed to have 'perfect' pregnancies and make it look so easy.

I'm 17 + 1 at the moment and my morning sickness is just starting to go away whereas they just sicky feeling for 12 weeks.
They had the lovely glowing complexion and I got acne.
They had enough energy to go about their normal day whereas soon as I get in all I think about is taking a nap.
They all seemed very calm whereas it feels like I can get upset over anything.
and they all looked great while I'm lucky if I can be bothered to slap on some make-up in the morning.

And then there are somethings I just wish I was warned about like, the sneeze with no other cold-like symptoms that won't go away, the random nosebleeds, the fact the hormonal changes made it more likely my wisdom teeth would start erupting again, I get itchy for no reason, earache, I can't sit down for too long it hurts my pelvis and hips hurt but if I stand for too long backache, the random abdominal pains as my womb gets heavier or (TMI) when I go to the bathroom. My midwife said it's all normal but it's just the thing people don't tend to warn you about.

Again sorry to rant just need to get that out.

I just felt unwell the whole time. SPD from 14 weeks, could barely walk, heartburn such that I kept Gaviscon in business for several months, awful stretch marks. Worst of all the shortness of breath and fast heartbeat the whole time which just made me feel ill (no-one else ever mentions this, was it just me?). Any glowing 38/40 lady who condescendingly told me 'it really is better to keep active you know' was lucky to escape with her hair still attached to her head.
Labour could have been better (understatement of the fucking century). 2 weeks overdue, 42 hours of induction and Intervention-tastic, flashback causing awfulness.

However.

My baby is one that really did sleep through the night from the start. He's placid, cheerful, bfed fine from the start, gained weight, etc etc. He is, frankly, easy, and it's been lovely.

So, whenever I think back to the misery of pregnancy, I still reckon I got the better deal.

I understand. I used to crawl up the stairs after work when pregnant with ds, and my SIL was out jogging, (running!) until she went into labour. She kept saying things like "oh if you keep fit, the baby just pops out!" It did not pop out for her in the end, but I remember wondering was I doing everything wrong. I was absolutely flattened with exhaustion.

She still does this now, says the children sleep all night etc. her husband tells the truth though! The don't. She just glosses over things, she is a very positive person, which is lovely but when you are struggling, it's hard to hear.

Wildfire I have shortness of breath and rapid heart beat at times, I was given an inhaler my first pg which has helped no end when my chest was tight! Hospital sent me home saying it was heart burn Confused Dr saw sense thankfully though and gave me an inhaler which I am using again this time round

Malvin speak to the midwife about your hand cramps - I ended up being unable to move my hands in the mornings. Got referred to the physio who gave me dome braces up wear at night - it made a big difference.
