Braxton Hicks?

I'm 26 weeks pregnant with 2nd baby and have been feeling sort of mild contractions since last night, but not so regular I couldn't sleep. I would say perhaps as many as 3-4 per hour but sometimes not for a couple of hours. Are these braxton hicks or early warning signs do you think. Inever had any with my 1st preg but went into labour at 37 weeks. I'm going to see midwife at 3pm today. Any advice people.

Hi,
What did your midwife say?
I started having tightenings at 23 weeks. They were regular every 5 mins. I called the hospital and they admitted me overnight, however my cervix was still closed which they said was a good sign. No one could give me a answer as to why I kept having them. Ive had them all the way through my pregnancy now. Some days I didnt get any and others they were every couple of minutes. In the end I stopped bothering the hospital as I assumed they would soon pass. I found that if I did anything too active it started them off and also turning over in bed. Im now 39 weeks and have started to get them regular again, but im assuming its because im near the end.

Let me know how you are.
Take care

Same as Kbaby, I have had them since about 18 wks, did with DD too, I think!!
They are sometimes quite painful, and I have to stop and relax, and I seem to have them nearly every day.
I figure if it is the real thing, there will be another sign too!!

How did you get on with MW?

Thanks, yeah I went to midwife and she said it would be braxton hicks and I should try to tske it a bit more easy but with a two year old and little break other than 2 mornings at pre-school and some help from Hubby when he gets in, were trying to finish the house for when baby comes so its hard but never mind!
You two seemed to have had them worse than me so I supppose I'm quite lucky really!

I had them since about 20 weeks as well. Not regular at all though. Again I noticed it always happened when I was running around or doing the housework, but I find that if I stop and practise deep breathing for a minute, they ease off. Now I'm 33 weeks, they come a little bit more regurlarly (definately every day), so I use them to practise my labour breathing. If I have a warm shower/bath they seem to ease off as well.
