Counting the kicks

I have counted at least 20 kicks within the space of 41 minutes but still can't shift this paranoia. I'm 30+4 and not sure I can deal with this for another 10+ weeks.
I have anterior placenta which doesn't help. OH tries to keep me calm but i don't think he quite understands how easy it is to just 'try and stay calm'

Is this normal? I have been to triage once for 'reduced movements' I would go there minimum of once a week if it was down to me....

Don't pay any mind to bump measurements. They're generally bullshit and don't reflect baby's actual size. My bump with DS measured spot on throughout my pregnancy...he was 10lb 4oz. They think this one is big too but I'm not convinced even though I'm measuring big. Are they giving you growth scans?

They haven't offered me any growth scans. Looking at my notes they say not to be worried about it if you are measuring large unless you have other reasons to be concerned like diabetes etc. I have always felt that I am carrying a bit of water or something around this baby

I'm really glad I read this thread. I'm 31 weeks and I have to say I haven't really ever noticed a real pattern of movement in my little one! Maybe in the evening when I'm laying down resting but, obviously I am not busy at work with my mind on other things! I do have to say I agree with darth that it is very scary to pregnant women that so much emphasis is put on this, when it isn't the same for everyone! I think my midwife has lessened my anxieties by never making a huge deal out of it! She always asks have I been feeling baby moves lots and remember if I'm ever worried to call, and get checked. But it's never hugely stressed to me and makes me feel at ease. Obviously I know how important it is to report any concerns over babies movement, and I always would, but having it constantly drummed into you all the time is quite scary and can make for very anxious mummy's!

I had a late stillbirth and I'm now 36 weeks again. I really need to stop obsessing over kicks. I resisted calling the hospital again today as I kept getting small flutters but now we're on to full blown kicks and turns, thank goodness. I am booked in for a c sec in 3 weeks and it will be such a relief. It's a shame there's not a decent monitor you can buy to use at home. I have a Doppler but it's rubbish.
