Excessive fetal movements? 30 weeks

Excessive fetal movements.

I am 30+5 weeks, and for the few days my baby has been going mad!!

This is my 4th child, but cant remember the others doing this (but it was a long time ago now)

It felt like a fit yesterday, the whole of their body moving at the same time, very quickly and felt quite violent. Lasting for a few minutes each time, then going quiet, then doing it again.

Normal movements also felt since too.

Is this normal movement?

ps.....whats gone on with this place....it looks different!

Re this place, long story but MNHQ changed things yesterday morning and there was a small revolution by most of us (trips to specsave included) as the new layout nearly blinded some of us. Also many reported migraines..... so they changed it back. Please be grateful you never saw it

About your movements, I am 34 wks and was thinking this morning that I have never felt so much movement before either, it seems to be turning around in my tummy and is a bit painful at times. But there is a hard bump on my top right hand side which doesn't move. M/wife told me yesterday it's the arse, so baby can't be turning round. I certainly never had movement like this with my first. Do you think it's because we are excited about Christmas

Divvy · 16/12/2006 14:28

No..its the new lay-out thats doing it!

Very bloody possible

Divvy · 16/12/2006 14:31

ps...sometimes the movements are so forceful, that I feel my under-carriage move! From outside!

Oooo yes yes yes, I am feeling this too. I put the remote control on my bump to prove this to DH (who wont touch my bump - bastard) and it fell on the floor. I really don't know why we are getting so much movement perhaps someone will come along to tell us.

Divvy · 16/12/2006 15:03

dh kissed my bump this morning...I was touched!!! [shocked] him that wont keep his hand on it long enough to feel anything...and just says...oh yes I can feel that!

BUT IT DIDNT MOVE!!!!!

MEN!

Dh will not touch bump ever, don't know why, with my first pg it really pissed me off as he is a fabby dad. Really hands on from the off - but has some sort of phobia about touching bump or being at birth. He was forced the first time as I had a c/s but this time my best friend is going to be my birth partner. You are right - men are bloody strange.

I worried about that too - but the obstetrician said any movement is a good movement. The weird fits mine had felt like drumming - you'd think too fast for a baby to do, but when she came out, I could see that it was just her stretching her legs out, as in when you stretch and yawn you slightly judder so I really wouldn't worry.

I am experiencing massive and sometimes painful movements too, It also felt like that with my other 2 pregnancies and I worrued aboiut it with the first but was told by the midwives that its totally normal so I didn't worry last time and this time

Tommy · 16/12/2006 15:41

I think I've got Sportacus in there - s/he is leaping around all over the place. I'm actually finding it all quite painful

trixymalixy · 16/12/2006 21:22

I was worried about excessive movements as well, but MW said all movements are good.

I have had kind of juddering movements that I was worried might be fits as well, but it reminded of my cat stretching and yawning so was hoping it was that. So you have set my mind at rest scattercushion.

Funny I had exactly the same last night for the first time (25 weeks), and the first thing that came to my mind was: Fit.
That's what it felt like. Very powerful too.
I was worried baby was distressed and got entangled in the ombilical cord or something.
But seems to be back to normal movements today.
didn't experience this in first pregnancy.

Divvy · 17/12/2006 21:46

Well, she hasnt done it since, so she just must have been very uncomfortable or something.
