I am 37+5. A few weeks ago the hospital found protein in my urine but BP was fine so they told me to ensure my midwife kept an eye on it. I am due to see her in 2 days (weds) but the last 24 hrs my ankles have suddenly ballooned. Nothing else has - hands and face are fine. I have a head ache but also have a cold so have just linked the 2.
My sister had pre eclampsia and is stressing that I need to go to hospital but surely they'll just say it's a normal part of late pregnancy?
Would I be better to just go to the local out of hrs doc and ask them to check my BP? I don't live close to the hospital and I don't want them to think I'm insane!

If at 37+5 you've been in 5x with reduced movements and you now have higher bp, I'm surprised they're not offering you early induction / CS. Mine were all early (39+1, 35+5 and 37+5) due to repeated reduced movements (and no bp issues).

Bonzo... they've never even asked my name or hospital number when I've called up the last few days. So they wouldn't have known this history :-(

Glad that things were fine today. Do call them though if you have ANY concerns. The protocol around here is to be seen by a doctor for a discussion about induction etc after 2 admissions with reduced movements. (That doesn't mean a definite induction or even that it will be recommended, just that it should be considered.)

And do ask for their names when you phone. I'd even consider speaking to PALS. The next time they ignore someone, things might not be okay.
