So i had a sweep Monday. But i was told baby wasn't low enough and i wasn't dilated but cervix was soft... Second sweep next week. If nothing happens ,induced on the 11th.
I'm starting to lose hope, baby just doesnt seem to want to come out, and im beginning to ask myself if I'll ever go into labor myself. And i really wanted to do it all myself, im so emotional... I keep thinking my body is failing me Sad
I've not been this emotional since i was 15 weeks! I keep lashing out at people and crying , then i eat. Im aware of postnatal depression and i really dont want that either and thats making me even more emotional, i just want my baby, absolutely terrified of the possibly needing a c section.. And i keep thinking if that happens I'll become depressed . everything is piling up

Comforting words and experience's would be really helpful and appreciated Flowers

Don't worry, my friend was a week over and have birth perfectly naturally with no gas & air, no cut/tear, no medical intervention at all. She said it was her reward for waiting for so long :p x

I went into labour naturally at 40+15, baby born at 40+16. Sometimes they just like to take their time!

AnyoneButSanta · 02/12/2015 18:09

Look at the lovely graphs!

49.5% of women (excluding those who had a truly premature birth) went into spontaneous labour by day 40+3. 75.6% went into spontaneous labour by week 43 (after which they were all induced). So you're more likely than not to go into spontaneous labour before you're induced. I went into labour with my first at 41+3....still had an EMCS mind you.

Caveat: This data is based on a large survey, not proper statistics, but it looks legit and should give you the idea.

Yes, twice! 40+5 and 41+1.

Try not to worry about it.

Try not to stress it, baby will come when baby is ready. Don't waste your time trying all the labour inducing techniques, just enjoy the last few days of carrying your precious bundle. I can say this because my bub arrived at 42+2. I did do all the stressing too!

confusedandemployed · 03/12/2015 19:42

I went into labour naturally after sex at 40+11, no BH, trickling, show or anything beforehand. DD born 40+12.

It'll happen soon enough!

Bellejournee · 03/12/2015 19:45

40+6 with first (no sweep), 39 exactly with second (induced).

wallywobbles · 03/12/2015 20:03

2 weeks late. Messy birth because of meconium (over ripe baby) but 2 pushes and she was here. She pretty much fell out into my hands!!

mrsjoker35 · 03/12/2015 21:02

Im getting excited guys! Getting pretty crampy and sore now. Feels like pretty tense period pains , but ive always had bad period pain! So im pretty calm as of now lol

I'll post if anything significant happens GrinFlowers

Yay go you. Gyrate on that birthing ball, brought my labour on great

EldonAve · 03/12/2015 21:14

almost 42 weeks with all 3
had a sweep with the first (had no effect) but never again

PennyHasNoSurname · 03/12/2015 21:19

No need to assume you will be induced just because youve gone iver the due date - youve got a while yet.

Good luck with the coming few days!

PotteringAlong · 03/12/2015 21:21

Not my first (was induced at 42 weeks) but my second I went into labour naturally at 41+5!

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 03/12/2015 21:22

I'm only 39 weeks but feel exactly the same. It's even worse that my first came spontaneously at 36 weeks then my second was 12 days over. You aren't a failure in any way shape or form sometimes it's the way the baby is lying or the shape of their head even

qumquat · 03/12/2015 21:29

40+3 days is nothing to worry about. In France they calculate due date as 41 weeks, which I think is much more sensible. I gave birth at 42 weeks by the sonographer's calculations, 41+2 weeks by mine. They couldn't even do a sweep on me as cervix was too far back. All fine straightforward birth done and dusted in 11 hours. Try to relax and enjoy newborn free time.

Whatsername24 · 03/12/2015 21:40

I went into labour at 40+13 - just hours before I was due at the hospital for an induction. Labour lasted all of 40 minutes and we made it to the hospital with 4 minutes to spare.
15 years later, this baby lies in bed as long as he possibly can but can be washed, dressed, fed and out of the house for school in 15 minutes.

UptownFunk00 · 03/12/2015 21:43

Sounds hopeful!

I think you're starting :)

tractorgirl123 · 04/12/2015 17:46

Don't waste your energy worrying about being overdue, enjoy the time being able to do whatever you want whenever you want. I had my first at very nearly 2 weeks overdue, was booked in to be induced on the Sunday then my waters broke sat night, so they gave me another 24 hours and managed to do it by myself without induction with a few hours to spare! I did try everything once they threatened to induce me, including star jumps!

Leviticus · 05/12/2015 08:46

Is there an update?

mrsjoker35 · 05/12/2015 15:32

Ive still not got to meet my baby lol she's really subborn :P
But I've been having more pains and cramps. So at least it feels like some thing is happening now. Yesterday i was just sitting and i got this burning cramp from what it felt like the very bottom of my uterus right to under my ribs , i got really excited but it faded :( a lot of pressure in my bum too !
