Does anyone know where I can buy a cot that clips onto your bed. I'v read that they reduce the risk of cot death and are useful when your breastfeeding as you don't need to get out of bed to feed the baby as its lying next to you but in its own cot.
Thanks

I can't anwser this question, but am pretty keen to hear if anyone else can as I've heard the same thing! If they are too expensive I was thinking about leaving the side off the cot we've already got and creating a bit of a clip on cot in our own unique way, but would arther have the proper thing!

but if you just leave the side off the cot the mattress won't be at the right height will it?

No idea which are the best, but if you google 'bedside cot' it comes up with a few suggestions .

The only bedside cot on the market at the moment is the Cossatto Bedside cot. If you Google it it'll come up. It has a drop down side that fits under the cot. I bought a Brio bedside cot off ebay which works by the side sliding over the cot and dropping down the other side. They don't make this one anymore but there may others on ebay. They are both height adjustable to fit the height of your bed, although the Brio has is more adjustable. I did quite a lot of research on all this about a month ago. Amazing realy that there aren't more out there as it's a recommended method of cosleeping with less risks.

I have the Brio bedside cot - now with it third occupant and I think its great and yes, can't understand why it wasn't more popular. In fact with dc 3, I bought the crib version which does the same thing but is obviously just smaller (the cot version is huge!!) and thought that was equally good. Will try to remember where crib came from and post back after school run.

Okay, think it was from kiddicare.com but had a quick look and don't think they stock it anymore. As mentioned below, google bedside cot/crib (global and brio = the same) and should find some stockists (will figure out how do links one day....).

Hi - would also thoroughly recommend the bedside cot, the side slips under the cot and the matress is in line with ours. Also useful to use as a trainer bed later on by again sliding the side underneath - its sooo lovely to know your baby is right next to you but safe in its own cot - also they are used to the cot immediatly so no transferring from moses baskets etc.. Have used for both my DD's and will be used for no. 3 . Bought ours 5 yrs ago from John Lewis if any help.

Thanks everyone. I found a few when I searched for bedside cots in google instead of the clip on cots I was looking for before. Mothercare do one for £160 which is just the thing I was looking for.

Hi - I've been searching the internet for a kind of 'start-up' list of things to buy. This is baby number 1 and although I kind of know what we need, a list would help... Does anyone have one or a web reference to one?
Thanks
